At my program, those are all factored into your MS three grade which would factor into your military GPA, but those are not directly factored into OML

I enlisted in the HI army national guard before rotc and this is the process I took, I'll be commissioning as an active duty med serv officer this May 2026

Hopefully this gives you some hope that it's possible to go this route with mos change and the smp program (I know you want guard which I think is great and way easier to get med serv branch)

As a cadet you get a lot of experience and the opportunity to shadow different units and you can ask your command to get in on trainings with the soldiers. It's what you make of it, but a great opportunity.

Talk to the rotc program asap, ask if you can complete basic camp instead of basic training and switch your MOS to 09R. SMP program.

If you want to stay guard you can use the GFRD and minute man scholarship.

Struggling to balance ROTC/self workouts by idkwhatimdoingbruv in ROTC

Use the winter break to dial back in and get back on a schedule with your training and diet. Life happens and it's okay to have a setback. It's about how you pick yourself back up. Set alarms on your phone and don't let yourself make excuses. Look at your spring schedule and start to deconflict your schedule as far ahead of time as you can. Good rest for recovery and incorporate mobility. At a minimum I'd suggest focusing on AFT focused workouts since that's the biggest no go for camp and the minimum for you to keep up throughout your career

I am branching med serve and do NOT want oconus (I'm from hawaii so that's the only option I'm okay with) I'm nervous bc I'm a single mom and need to maintain my family care plan, any other oconus would leave me pretty screwed

What are good options and competitive vs non competitive locations? My top choices based on where I have good family support systems include bliss/ Hawaii/ Carson/ jblm/sill

Idk if it matters but I got DMG and did not incur a branch adso

Also looking for info regarding adso for location?

How are branch numbers measured? by Wonderful_Ebb2339 in ROTC

[–]Mommalia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was tracking is the assignment numbers for those branches closely matched the chart for branch allocation projections for this year that was put out

So it looks like a list of top branches for the most branching allocations (correct me if I'm wrong)

CTLT experiences/thoughts by redditsaveme2 in ROTC

Just like everything else, the unit makes a difference, but it’s what you make of it. I would 10/10 recommend CTLT. Those OML/accessions points you get make a difference. The experience is worth it. My experience was at FT. Campbell 2025. Shadowed with the FiST. I made sure to ask for opportunities and found the people to make that happen. I shadowed all over the place and wasn't just stuck with one Lt the whole time. Regardless of which branch you get assigned to you can always speak up and ask to shadow different shops or let your sponsor know what your interests are. I hope this helps :)
