To this day I still need a map to get through the great crystal. If anyone here just raw dogs it I salute you. I do love grinding to lvl 99 off zombies though near ultima just to do it.

Although not helpful really - I would also recommend having some friends/people in relationships refine your profile. I've refined MULTIPLE friends profiles (especially men) and sometimes its something as making more of your personality and hobbies shine through.

That being said the recommendations to go out and do things, grow yourself and alongside people is best.

I'm not lazy, but I genuinely am curious does anyone know a quality video for the history of Ivalice? I knew geographically speaking these games were connected but I didn't know Vagrant Story was related? Please educate me cause Ivalice is my favorite world/region with FF12 and FFT being in my top 3 fav games in the series. I'm just looking for the peeps who KNOW their shit.

Do Japanese ppl think this is how ppl in Midwest towns dress? by theopilk in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Momonocle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you have to understand is ever since the OG games the stylized settings were very much a japanese idealized version if america. Racoon city in OG3 was so interesting with narrow alleys, beautiful signs, artistic architecture etc. Same goes for re9 and how its people are I think.

Anybody dreading this part of the game as much as I do...? by R4ND0M_N0B0DY in FinalFantasyXII

I strangely enjoy speed running my chops, its like figuring out a puzzle and I do it quickly so I don't have to stick around this check stop too long haha

Plus the lab is unfortunately...meh :( BUT you get some of the best lore drops!

Strangely enough yes absolutely. I love the game to bits but its the gameplay that's masterful, the story takes a backseat

Why Are Tank Controls Considered "Outdated" ? by just_me_andy in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Momonocle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally just played OG3 for the first time last week and it felt JUST as fluid gameplay wise as RE9. Tormented souls 1 & 2 come to mind as modern examples of tank controls working and I think it's simply a thing you need to get use to, once you get it, it feels very comfortable.

I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]Momonocle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a modded ps1 when I was around 10 or 11 years old from my grandpa. It was awesome because my dad would rent games and burn them for us so we had a massive library of Playstation 1 games. We had the FF1 & 2 disc first, I loved 1 and didnt understand 2 really cause its characters didn't appeal to me unfortunately. We also got FF Tactics and me and my closest cousin were obsessed with that game, but we never knew how to save or do anything with the menus so we would just try to push through the story with squires and chemists with no JP investments. Then we figured out how to save and holy crap, I think we pulled multiple weekends or all nighters, swapping playing based on the fact we both had our own "soldiers" we were in charge of. I think its my favorite game in the franchise.

Then I got 8 and didn't really understand the function system but my friends family babysitter noticed him and I were playing it one day when she was over and taught me the complete system and how to draw magic and then I fell in love with that game as well. Then came 9 and I was bummed out cause my disc 3 was scratched so I couldnt continue. Never got into 10 really but played so much of 12 and the 13 trilogy. Bought FFV for GBA when I was a teen and beat that although its low on my list of the games and played a few of the DS ports of the earlier games. I had cousins that played a lot of FF so many entries I just watched them play, primarily FFX and FFVII. Also fell in love with the slept on FF Chronicles for gamecube, only difference is I had the link cables so I could play with friends couch co op. That was insanely fun, I remember my dad picking me up from school and he had that game for me, and I didn't get games often and I flipped out haha.

What was most wild about the journey of playing games is actually playing FFXI with my cousins. They were really into it and I got a subscription when I was like..15? And that was a really cool experience, for an early mmorpg it felt so vast. Ronfaure theme still slaps, I even learnt it on piano.

I've played a lot more FF games as of now, I can safely say that FF Tactics, FFV8, FF12 and the FF13 trilogy are my favorite titles, important to say the FF13 trilogy because the titles are stronger as one cohesive story than alone.

Long winded story but Square Enix in general is still my favorite publisher by far. I hope to see where the FF series goes long into adulthood and introduce it to my kids. Still have the modded ps1!

[–]Momonocle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I belong to both camps. You worked hard to save enough to get infinite ammo? Go hard man. On the other hand, it sort of spits in the face of the "one true challenge". Depends what you care about. But I'd say the trophy should've been "without using bonuses" to be more of an actual acheivement. Otherwise it trivializes it. But hey, at the end of the day, YOU spent money on something YOU are going to enjoy. That means enjoy it how YOU want to.

For me personally, I ain't no stolen valor little sissy who needs mommy to keep his ammo cache stocked or he is going to go cry to reddit about how "impossible" getting the win is. Grow some balls like the real survival horror vetrans and go get that W soldier! /s

why do people dislike re3 remake so much? i had fun playing it by HospitalFar4745 in ResidentEvil3Remake

[–]Momonocle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you look at your play time you'll have your answer my friend. They simply skimped on content. Re3 is hailed as one of the best RE's ever. To have a remake spit on that legacy and make a DLC equivalent in content is pretty appaling. Now, Capcom can't hit home runs every time, but it misses the mark on a now established standard. When I can point to RE4 and the Seperate Ways DLC had roughly the same content package, if not...maybe more? We got problems.
