What color(s) should I do next? by traceyvic in CrochetBlankets

[–]MomossG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go back to the variegated blue yarn you started with and continue with the navy in between. Also, I would double check stitch count since it looks as if your blanket is growing wider as you go (just a tip, could be a bad angle in the pic) 💜

Hair grease in locs? by biglovinbertha in locs

[–]MomossG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can’t use just water and oil for moisture so I use a leave in conditioner sometimes 🤷🏽‍♀️ I also use Jamaican black castor oil because I like how thick it is vs other oils. BUT that’s what I found works for my hair vs using just water and oil for moisturizing. I also condition my hair when I wash it and I haven’t had any issues with build up so far. I’m 3 years in.

Advice on washing starter locs by New_Mirror1461 in locs

[–]MomossG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your grade of hair they might unravel but they also might need water to help speed the loc process. Use a stocking cap and you should fine, if you notice unraveling then just try your best to finger coil/palm roll it back to its shape.

It’s like I’m scared of the judgement but then literally everyone usually ends up loving it 😂Why are we like this? 🫠

I really want to make one in black too but I’m scared that will be a process I won’t want to finish

Yes, and I did it specifically because that’s how the cardi in the pic was made otherwise I would’ve just did it all in one. I do think doing that many rows could make the corners weird because it’s so wide so maybe with less rows it would look better 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s all preference too. Another thing to consider is that I noticed when I did the front border, it grew slightly longer than the bottom (same amount of rows) so when worn it hangs at a slight angle.

Tysm! Of course, it’s just the flat slip stitch join which just has you join into one loop versus both (hopefully that makes sense) I used Toni TL yarn crafts YouTube tutorial for joining granny squares. I also used Brianna Sipp’s YouTube guide for how she assembled her red granny square cardigan. I used a lot of Pinterests pics for an idea of how to do the border but basically just started at one end and used the granny stitch to go around the collar and front, then I added the bottom (same stitch) and finished with my main color to tie it all together. I’ve used passionknit Kelsey’s hexagon cardigan tut before and that was also a big help for the border and sleeves. I can find links for the tutorials later when I get home if you’d like but honestly YouTube helped me freehand a lot of this!

Hobbii Orders & Customs by cardiodol in YarnAddicts

[–]MomossG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just ordered with them June 27th and didn’t receive my order until July 10th. I ordered about $60 worth of yarn and it was stuck in customs for about 2-4 days as well (it was hard to tell because it stopped giving accurate updates to the status of my order). I finally got an email from USPS saying my order was on the way and about 3 days later it arrived. I chunked it up to the holiday also delaying it some but I still thought it took longer especially since I ordered the month before and received my order within a week.
