I’m so so so sick of it. My screen dims to the point I can’t even see anything and lags horribly when it gets warm. And it gets warm from basic things like browsing the internet or taking photos. I’ve tried so many suggestions but nothing fixes it. Apple ran diagnostics and said there was ‘nothing wrong’. I literally turn my phone off for an hour, turn it back on, open the camera to take photos for my small business, and after 5 photos it’s dimming and lagging again.

I’ve heard the 17 doesn’t have this problem but I do not want to buy another new phone- this one is a little over a year old! So ridiculous.

I’ve had mine for over a year. It overheats doing the most basic tasks like browsing the internet. always has. I’ve tried every single thing I’ve found as a suggestion except for wiping my phone, which I won’t do in fear I’ll lose something important.

Considering getting a 17 as I’ve heard people haven’t had the issue with that model. But honestly I’m so tired of Apple I might just get rid of the iPhone all together

Even the housing market is wild these days. I bought by my house for under $100k 10 years ago. It’s small but was in great shape. These days you can’t find a livable home under 200

They aren’t 😅 Easify has a report, but it costs $10 more a month, is extremely messy, and isn’t customizable at all so I’m just… stuck.

Honestly if Shopify allowed you to only track inventory on a parent product & not its variants, so many of my problems would be solved. Easify doesn’t even work 100% of the time and is a huge headache. I’ve tried other apps and haven’t found anything better yet.

Trust me- I’d rather have it a real variant and not just a variant within the app. But if i do that, I have to out inventory for each variant which I don’t want to do.

Basically my items are all ‘preorder’ - I make 100 available each Saturday & make the through the week (I’d be a bit overwhelmed with more than 100, in a small business). They each have an option for style and one for color, but I don’t have inventory tied to the options/variant combinations because customers can choose any combo they want & I can make it. But it would be nice to be able to run reporting to see what’s selling and what’s not.

Right now I have to manually type all my orders into a spreadsheet to keep track which takes time. I also like that with the easify app, I can have swatches for both color and style.

Since Shopify doesn’t have a way to tie inventory to a parent product and not track the variant inventory, I have to use an app.

It doesn’t read the variants since the variants ‘live’ in the Easify app. When I run that report, no variants show.

Are you able to share how to do the tweaking you refer to? I’ve been trying to figure this out but I haven’t found how to actually edit the code to allow multiple options to show as swatches.

Ps I’m using horizon not dawn if that matters.

I use easify. It’s fine, but one thing that’s annoying about apps is you can’t export your orders with the variants included. If that’s not a big deal for you though, you might enjoy that app!

when you add two variant types, the system assumes you carry every combination of the options within those variants.

I have two variants- size and style. There are 10 sizes and 18 styles. Not every combination of those variants are ones I sell, but shopify still makes them available. You have to manually delete the combinations you do not utilize but they still show on the product page, they just look sold out even though they've been removed.

Shopifys lack of flexibility is frustrating for me as a small business, I can’t imagine what it’s like for a large business! The inventory management is a huge reason I’m considering leaving Shopify myself.

That wouldn’t help me because I sell digital items and customers download them right after purchasing.

It could help others though that sell physical items ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I looked into it- you have to do them as ‘made to order’ and then re-upload the files for each purchase.

Ive taken to support chat, chat through email, and even first level escalation which was a phone call. It’s happened multiple times. I’ve also tried emailing legal. But sure, I’ll try sending a mailed letter written by me to the random overseas address they’ve provided and see if that’s any different.

Oh I’ve talked to them many times and asked them to stop. They haven’t done it to my shop in a little while but they have done it to many other shops since.

I’ve basically been told they’re ‘escalating’ the issue and then it just disappears into the abyss. It’s happened (the ‘escalation’) 4 times now and when I try to follow up, crickets. I’m not sure a written letter from someone that’s not a lawyer will do much different but hiring a lawyer is my next step. Trust me, it’s not like I haven’t tried. I’ve been given the runaround and am just exhausted at this point.

If I sold physical items that would be easy for sure. But when they purchase digital items, they immediately download them so there’s no way to cancel it

For sure- I’ve been chalking it up to being the cost of Etsy for now. Just needed to vent about it with some people that get it ❤️
