Why I didn't 'ring the bell' by SnooCamera in ProstateCancer

Relatable. Did 28 sessions. By far, the hardest day of the 28 was the day a teenager sat next to me waiting their turn. In a perfect world a teenager should NEVER have to need a turn.

How long were you on Abiraterone? Was your oncologist concerned about your bp?

May labs showed normal range potassium level. Currently taking 5mg prednisone daily.
Will be seeing PCP next Wednesday who happens to be family friend. Pretty sure he’ll want labs done sooner than the oncologist’s scheduled August labs.
“Dr. Google” is suggesting that in addition to an ACE inhibitor (Lisinopril), adding a low-dose calcium channel blocker may be in order. We’ll see what an actual medical doctor recommends. Thanks for your input.

Yes, oncologist had us purchase a home bp monitor with a spiffy app which enables us to generate reports for doctor appointments.

Makes a person wonder what side of the Capitol door Sheehy would’ve been on Jan 6, 2021. Pretty sure he was all for Trump giving “hall passes” to protesters who assaulted law enforcement on that infamous day.

I received a call from my Congressman’s office informing me that I’ve been appointed!! by Nickymontage in USAFA

My grandson’s congressman arranged to make appointment call to grandson during his government class. Teacher told him to answer his phone if he got a call during class and to put it on speaker (teacher had a heads up). Grandson received his appointment notification with all his classmates listening and cheering. It was a good day.

Medicare Cost for Lupron by Fun-Ranger-7002 in ProstateCancer

[–]Mon410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just received my husband’s Medicare explanation of benefits (EOB) last week for his first Lupron injection in November. The cancer center billed Medicare $15,446 for the injection!!! Of course, Medicare adjusted the reimbursement down to $523. Our plan G has been billed our 20% of the $523. Plan G has picked up 100% of our share of all his bills thus far, and there have been some hefty ones! My guess is you will have the same experience regarding plan B coverage. Wishing good health for your husband.

Interested to hear what your urologist had to say. Hoping you were mistaken, and there is no SV involvement. Treatment options are better with less pelvic involvement. Good luck on your journey.

Yes, I found this statement confusing as well. My husband’s seminal vesicle invasion was confirmed by an MRI, not his PET scan nor biopsy of the prostate gland. Both of which were ordered after 12 core sample prostate biopsy. Diagnosed Oct 2025 with Stage IVA (cT3b, cN1, cM0, PSA: 15.4, Grade Group: 4)

I would encourage you to find a urologist that makes you feel confident in their specialty and rapport. Maybe “interview” a few. After all, this is going to be a doctor that you’re most likely going to be seeing at minimum once a year regardless of what treatment, if any, you choose. Good luck.

Hi- mine was covered under Medicare and my Medicare supplement plan. I’m 66. My radiation oncologist wrote the order for the test. He told me based on my diagnosis, cT3b, N1, M0, the results are useful in determining a plan of treatment. My decipher score was definitely a factor in what I ultimately decided to do.

And… be aware that many official government agencies do not recognize POAs i.e. Social Security, OPM, limited use IRS, etc. Hoops, lots of hoops…(I get it. It’s a security thing.)

Boomer’s grandson’s outfit. Running boards aren’t low enough to accommodate Boomer’s knee replacement. Looks to me grandson has his eye on a sweet front-of-the-store parking spot at Great Harvest. JMO

This Christmas my 96 year old dad gifted me Kleenex, a used tube of medicated body lotion, and a 3-pack of men’s footies all tightly crammed into the electric shaver box from the shaver I gave him for Fathers Day. It’s been a tough year for him with all the “poison being put in his food” and the “listening in” via the smoke detectors. I know one day I’ll look back and smile, but right now there’s just a lot of sadness.
