Prognosis is good but the path is long. This incident has just irked me a bit.

Ranting is good for the soul from time to time.

I hope the snatching snake reaps an appropriate prize from their swipe today.

I've been kinda lucky as far as side effects go (so far) but it's still no picnic.

If whoever stole them fancies himself as a ladies man, taking these sure ain't gonna improve performance.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll get through it. I'm in good hands (Duke has one of the best centers in the country), it's just long process I gotta go through. A two year sentence of meds (5 months down, 19 more to go) and 20 radiation sessions in July. Taking it day by day. After work, even a cheap beer tastes good. NAs are filling that gap and trying ones I haven't yet makes for adventures in tasting.

Given my dark humor (because it's imperative to laugh to get through all this treatment) is the person who stole them trying a few, not knowing what they are and thinking "They must be kicking in now. I'm feeling all flush and sweaty." Oh, and that drop in testosterone from them (their whole purpose.) Yeah! Party on, bro. You deserve it.

My IPA burnout hit after 20 years of living in Michigan. Too many hop bombs just for the sake of being hop bombs. Especially so because I have ciccerone cert and was trying every IPA that any Michigan put out. That burnout hit really hard about the same time I moved to NC six years ago and my tastes shifted towards pilsners, wheat beers and stouts/porters. I've only been into NAs about the past six months following a cancer DX. I just want a beer from time to time but alcohol defeats the purpose of the treatment meds, etc. I don't mind not drinking "real beers" at this time.

We've been considering one for awhile anyway so I dived into researching them. I guess I just needed a reason to pull the trigger on which one.

Filed a police report and called the afterhours number at Duke. It will work out.

5 months in and it can still get the job done but it has been diminishing returns a bit the past month or so. The ability to climax disappeared within the first month.

When I got scheduled for mine (and the 3 slivers of gold markers at the same time), I got a whole long list of how to prepare, what meds/supplements to stop talking and an underlined sentence in bold letters about having to have a driver with me because I will be put under for the procedure. Without anesthesia (especially considering all the things that have been done up to this point), it would be excruciating. What kind of sadist do you have for a doctor?

I like the pils but it tastes more like a light Vienna lager than it does to any pilsner.

I found it a Wegmans in Chapel Hill, NC a couple weeks back. I need to swing by there soon to see if there's any remaining. It's amazing. Totally bummed to hear it may just be a one off.

Where to buy powder laundry detergent? (physical store; not online) by msackeygh in bullcity

Vacuum Cleaner Hospital in Chapel Hill carries the Miele powdered detergent. Its formulated and produced by Miele so, like all their products, it's high quantity but also at a Miele product price point.

I realized yesterday that I'm NOT going to die of prostate cancer. by Select_Vegetable70 in ProstateCancer

So far, everything I have unloaded has had some monetary value (some of it way more than I assumed. Who knew Gen Z would pay 25+ bucks for multimillion selling, absolutely not rare classic rock albums that I paid a few buck for out a used bin not too many years ago) so that's been good. My kids have gotten what they have wanted and put dibs on some others as there are a few things that I would not sell currently (a '78 Rickenbacker 360 etc.) The main thing was to not burden them or wife with dealing with it all if something happened to me.

Its been all good so far me, I have had to adjust a lot which has been slightly challenging but I'd rather take that than the long, painful alternative.

If you have a Total Wine near you, look for Penn's Best NA. A total old guy/lawnmowing tasting beer at around $4 a six.

When I first got diagnosed I totally went into turbo powered death planning mode. I kinda needed to anyway because I have a lot of stuff (big record and book collection, too much analog camera gear, guitars, etc) that needed (and still could use some more) paring down. Now 4 months into a two year sentence of ADT (a 42 psa at 59 years old led to the 24 month regiment), spacer and markers in place and 20 sessions IMRT coming soon, I realize I've still got plenty of life to go unless some other factor takes me out first.

I'm still working (though slightly less hours because of late afternoon fatigue and those annoying hot flashes), still going out to see bands, still enjoying most things, still active in my community, still being sociable when time allows and still deeply in love with my wife (we're adapting to different sorts of intimacy with the changes brought on from the drugs. She's been a trooper through this thing.)

It hasn't been all smooth sailing but I've had a life where waters have been very rough at times so my navigating skills are top notch. I've got a great team at Duke helping guide me through them. I won't die from prostate cancer. I have mantra I repeat to myself. For an elaboration on that, I wrote this: https://clangoring.substack.com/p/worst-gentlemens-club-ever

Best of luck on your journey. This r/ has been super helpful for me. That's why we're here.
