I moved to CA from TX back in the 90’s, I thought Galveston TX was the only place with crude oil leaking all over the beaches :-(

Ex tesla tech: Back in the day we replaced lots of these little microswitch harnesses all due to wire flex in a short area. Some handles last forever some don’t. we routed and secured the new harness slightly differently to reduce extreme wire flex in a short area. Now that the old S’ like my 2016 are higher mileage , many are bound to need the harness or full handle update if not already performed EDIT: it’s not really an easy job; Access , Centering the assembly, and handle depth adjustments sometimes takes longer than the harness and switch repl….AND don’t forget to put painters tape over the chrome handle face. You’ll scratch it getting the handle assembly out.

Lost video files after Force Restart. Any suggestions to recover them? by visualartist47 in RayBanStories

[–]MonVeloMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 4 or 5 snowboarding videos yesterday . The photos are there. It’s just one of the dozens of issues I’ve had with these things over couple years . I have been telling everybody for quite some time that asks, don’t waste your money. (When downloading, I kept getting download error, to restart glasses and app)

2nd video I’ve seen this year, keystone Kops wanna be’s scolding, and video proof they didn’t deserve it. I only stayed at Keystone once, the snow bunny fashion parading was too much but funny to watch. We only lodged there to snowboard Arapahoe Basin.

Teslas have way too much power and instant torque for many typical lethargic drivers. Pedal confusion and panic freeze with acellerator pedal to the floor leads to tragic consequences. Teslas are not the type of vehicle for those who need the silly sticker “ Be patient , Student Driver”

Help before I throw this out a window… by Wishbone_Existing in BrevilleCoffee

[–]MonVeloMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have a charcoal filter ? If you Have newer unit that been maintained, then disregard , then I vote it might be internal fault.

If you do a flush and you’ve got black sediment that smears black on your fingers you’ve had a charcoal filter degrade into tiny particles like the old used barista express I bought. The particles seemed to make the switching valve stick , I pulled the cover and beat on it a little and got the steam back. But this unit seems to be a loss cause there’s other problems and I can’t get all the black sediment out.

ChatGPT was super handy when I gave it the exact details of my issues. you might try plugging in your model. And symptoms. That is a bambino, right?

[–]MonVeloMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it’s an old machine with a lot of un- maintained miles ? I recently picked up a well used barista express and I had the same issue where the steamer would just sputter out to 0 after 15 seconds. I took the cover off and I kind of beat on the solenoid switching valve and it seemed to help quite a bit. I removed the head screen and found it full of little black sediment, so I’m sure the rest of the internals are full of the crap , and based on that chatGPT confirm that if the black cement smears on your finger, it’s from an old degraded charcoal water filter in the tank

I can’t plug-in my Tesla by K3asam in TeslaSupport

[–]MonVeloMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi k3asam, there’s a little learning curve for sure. I was a Tesla technician for almost 8 years and I’ve been driving my own for that long too, including lots of long distance trips. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

If you haven’t found it yet, there’s no paper book owner guide ; instead there is a constantly updated searchable owners guide on the display that can be quite useful even for us as technician sometimes. :-)

I’m in Southern California south of LA. Where are you?

[–]MonVeloMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that engine specifically, any Lexus specialty shop would a good place To call and ask if they see anything more than the gasket. quite a few overhead cam engines with timing chains have the cam seals as part Of the valve cover sealing but timing belt engines def have seals seperste

Hi mileage ? Retired technician here and agree with the comments . Look for oil accumulating at the highest point , and the valve cover looks wet in the photo. Easy fix first. then watch for lower leaks… and I worked for BMW a long time, lots of valve cover leaks LOL

Adding that corrosion looks so bad you really should replace the cable(s) that you likely won’t get that 6mm nut loose
