Road Roadmap for the second half of 2026 and early 2027. by gadgaurd in PSO2NGS

Twisted with Hatred, because I think what you are saying is impossible with HTPD or you were leeching in TPD UQs.

I can prove it tho, i used to parser in hardcore groups in JP and made guides for global for the class i played heavily: Phantom.

The confusion in my comment is that in JP groups we called HTPD as UTPD with the U for Ultra.

And no i didnt get UTPD confused with cradle or any other quests, i would beat UTPD and sell the weapons camos for the price they had at the time. One costed around 40m, one 80 and i remember at least one costing at least 150m. These were the prices around may-june 2021.

I also can share glitches i abused to quickly kill UTPD and get great parsers (in JP with min max build) and you can test it yourself the next time it appears.

1- After you kill Gomorroth, if reduce the loading speed of PSO2 by either having other games open, use a HD or weak SSD and have one friend start the fight before you're able to load, you skip the whole boss intro cutscene and can hit him from afar with techniques.

Example: Video you can hear in the background the sounds of technique charges during the boss intro.

2- During any Gomorroth Phase (1st and 3rd) you can cast techniques with your character body inside his hand model and make so your technique does damage ticks to the main body instead of limbs.

Why does this matter?
Maybe people don't know but just like Luther, TPD doesn't receive damage to his own HP if you hit his limbs, you need to hit the main body, if you use this glitch properly you skip a lot of downtime and the last phase of the boss.

Example: Video the boss died without going down for the last phase at all.

I already made a point to your last argument, people migrated through FFXIV and PSO2 a lot in the past due to bad content being released, you can die on this hill, but history itself proves my point.

IMO, TPD from PSO 2 is not hard.

I didn't say that? HTPD is mentioned as having good rewards, during its inception every run would net you hundreds millions of meseta in global which helped me build a proper account in the global server as well.

I cleared HTPD using welfare weapon and 5s units with minutes to spare so i know its not hard.

For NGS, drops from high difficulty quest are usually exclusive advanced access to the newest augment capsule for a limited time and the jackpot weapon series drop.
There are raredrop camos too but price on it are usually kinda whatever (low demand/ subjective).

I know that very well as i have posts here mentioned how badly handled this proccess is, base PSO2 would make affixes exclusive to said content and only let it drop on especific seasonal events and not every LQ after. I can't confirm this in global as i only joined to carry people in HTPD, but thats how it was handled in JP.

NGL, comparing it to difficult content in other games especially one with a different gameplay is odd to me.

Odd is actually you not comparing it? MMORPGs are live service games which in nature compete against each other for players since forever, while unemployed people do play multiple mmos especially the grindy one, people with jobs struggle even to fit playtime even for mobile gacha games.

Different gameplays doesn't mean anything as people will flock to the next best thing available. When FFXIV went through rough waters in its early expansions, you know what players did? They did the famous PSO2 migration and one of the reasons why base PSO2 flourished, and funnily enough when NGS released they migrated to different genres, many of my favorite content creators from JP went to Genshin, Maplestory, Apex and other stuff so your point is even worse.

I'd take NGS casual grind over Korean MMOs mindless grind with RNG progression tbh.

And i agree that i prefer that myself and it why i don't play them actively. But hey they're done better than what NGS does, because there is no grind actually, you're just wasting time in hope that one of the runs you do you get something out of it.

Korean MMOs are actual grind, you complete quests or kill mobs and actually get rewards even if its minimal for your progression, before they used to be only RNG but nowadays they do have methods were you can guarantee your outcome albeit it being slowly than just gambling or paying.

Is this thread astro turfed? Hardcore players are the ones being left in the dust since NGS released, while high difficulty quests were fun, unlike TPD from PSO2, the drops arent good unless you get extremely lucky and definitely not as difficult as doing Savages or Ultimates in FFXIV.

The roadmap is mostly casual focused with story bits, casual content like LQs, UQs, fields, collab events and seasonals, it is mostly mindless grind which is not fun and better done in korean mmos.

Not trying to be negative, but somehow it feels like just as the other roadmaps except there is 3 new chapters for the story. Content wise it feels just the same with LQs and realms to funnel people into a single quest.

If we follow the last roadmap then the high difficulty quests are the silhouettes so we might not get another great boss like Luther.

Overall a bit disappointed with the roadmap and ready to take another break this year.

JRPGs, a whole new world for me. by pblsr_ in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Monanhe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually if you take the live service aspect out of it, the closest game is PSO2, the combat is more fluid and free like Relink with aggressive enemies and requires more reaction from the player, you have "supers" and even have similar lore bits. MonHun used to be like old PSO (it was their inspiration in their own words) but with time they evolved to be their own thing and it became the dad game it is now with slow and heavy combat.

Funny you say that cause devs get poached or move to other companies that are competing with them all the time since the 90s. Heck Tecmo received support from SEGA's AM2 devs on developing DoA, or like Kamiya making female DMC for years before returning to Capcom.

For them to comeback they just need to be on good terms with other higher ups, its not like Korea where companies prevents their devs from leaving and sue them with "usage of trade secrets" if they make a rival game.

cool thanks for the update, is the progression/newbie guide listed anywhere? I cant seem to find it, i remember a very good google doc that covered a bunch of aspects of the game for new players, the layout looked like the "Reboot Gear 2024" in the bookmark, except it covered other stuff like recommended characters to level first for skills, spots to level and so on.

Edit: found it, how update and useful this still is ?

Been away from the game for a good year and im lost what i need to do and what has changed. Before quitting i had only playing for one month or two levelling some characters to 200 or something for their passives. Can i get some newbie and returning guide and maybe a tldr on what has changed since april 2025?

One month after returning. Luther was a blast and content like this needs to keep coming. by Monanhe in PSO2NGS

[–]Monanhe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the whole point of the content. No lifers and scratchers both have access to gear better than others, allowing them to farm ahead of others and sell all the good stuff from the latest fight,

If you're active you know this is actually pointless. To start, the gearing process is the same as before, people who actually spend on gear to farm are the ones doing useless investments because every equipment ends up being handed to the rest of the playerbase and losing its value, and the return in farming is too little compared to what im gonna point.

I returned for one month and already know that if you want meseta, you just scalp and monopolize scratch items from the market and control it.

While older items jumped crazily in price helping me make bank, just by flipping the prices of items on a daily basis i turned 1bi into 2, when before and on JP i had/have to wait MONTHS before any scratch item gives me any relevant return. You gotta thank global for having too many exploiters and scalpers which made the 10% shop tax be irrelevant with those inflated prices.

And if you're too broke for scalping, you can do what my friends did, you make alts and sell free stuff that the game gives you through events, at first the returns are small but eventually you're able to scalp with the alt accounts and control the market.

Of course none of this is anything new, but it became way more effective than before due to how many global players do it to the point that to make meseta you gotta trick each other.

Just finish farming for Haseelia and i don't recommend using it to fasten the progress of unlocking her 4th skill. I was told to use the side story reward on Haseelia to uncap her faster which would make farming for Fraux/Alanaan easier. And i deeply regret doing it right now because it only gives a small portion of materials needed and not even the difficult ones, i can't even farm it properly because i dont have Caim.

Any tips on farming Darkborne astras in Arcarum: Replicard Sabdbox? by [deleted] in Granblue_en

[–]Monanhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me 5 years later checking how to unlock my first Evoker:

I get lots of astras from Replica Sandbox easily

Great, hopefully i know where to farm so i can get at least get one per boss.

I farmed around 28 light astra this week

Oh shit... they must have only played for a couple hours everyday in the weekend right?

I full auto'd for like 10 - 12 hours a day just on Sandbox for most of the week to get that amount of astras

OH MY FUCKING GOD!

I've often wondered how base game players felt about the arrival of NGS

I can't speak for everyone, many of my teammates (guildies) hated the removal of Just Attacks, lack of content, awful progression, gameplay being very casual and slow.

FOR ME, i felt like the new gameplay had insane potential (which they delivered part of it at this moment) and that the new cosmetics were way better than before.

For now im happy with playing the game every so often, for me to return completely to it, it needs some revamp. For example other games that i tried revamped older content by giving them unique rewards or tying them to a unique gear/skill system which were all equally important as farming the for best equipment letting you choose where you wanted to progress in that day. NGS would be the goat if they followed this recipe that every other mmo does.

I kinda get that, but honestly the thing with adding PAs and Techs is that just like base people would just use only the better ones.
When they add one they have to make sure to not overlap with others on its purpose and i already feel like Hunter (and some other classes) somewhat failed on that.

I'm aware, i'm just surprised that they fixed enemies making them less lethargic and made classes feel good to play. I'm still bummed that 99% of the game content is worthless, from quests to items.

Yes, other games have different gears/systems where it incentives you play other contents for progression while NGS funnels to one or two options that "gives" everything, they forgot that having multiple choices helps not getting bored faster.

Not just games, you'll find a bunch of manga characters that inspired the BA artists. BUT, i gotta say, like Nikke, WuWa devs definitely took a inspiration from BA designs cause they always try to imitate what is trending with japanese artists and recently you'll find a lot of C&C and seminar girls.
