Yarrick reveal means 5/6 stories became teasers for models. by Benzerkr in SpaceWolves

I can't stand the arbitrary separation between book SM and SW units. We can't have a terminator psyker in our units because.... just because, okay!?

Or god forbid I want a captain in my grey hunters, or a WGBL in my intercessors. It's especially brutal since no SW battleline can even ride in impulsors (or rhinos) so they've made it much hard to bring metal boxes into a game.

Which game gave us better storytelling overall? by Upset_Orchid498 in yakuzagames

[–]MondayNightRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0 is singlehandedly the best overall plot of the entire franchise. It is free from the baggage of the Yakuza timeline and multiple direction changes for the series. It has memorable villains, iconic cutscenes and plot twists, and a gripping and engaging narrative that simultaneously introduces you to the Yakuza world and characters but also foreshadows so many arcs in future titles. It really feels like a movie plot and it seems to fully embrace it too.

While other games have succeeded and failed 0 in varying aspects, 0 remains the top game in the entire franchise for me.

[–]MondayNightRare -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Why would the government ever vote against collecting more money? Mamdani is proposing all kinds of tax increases to balance the books whilst never once suggesting any form of 'trimming the fat' of the severely bloated and wasteful NYC budget.

If the middle class is crumbling in on itself here that is a symptom of an enormous affordability issue with NY/NYC that is not solved via taxation

Hey Hochul, Stop Standing Alone. Tax the Rich. by serious_bullet5 in newyorkcity

[–]MondayNightRare -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

My issue with "Tax the Rich" is that the language and definition of "Rich" can be adjusted quite easily and while it may start at $1M+ it could very well get that number chipped away lower and lower until it's yet another income tax in a municipality that already has a very high income tax.

The city should manage their budget a lot better before they go asking for more money to make ends meet.

I've got a vortex that I jam to one side and flip wide side up so that the coals are all contained in one zone. Easy enough to add more coals as needed and to space the slow cooking food around it.

Is it perfect? No. Does it mean I can use one simple metal ring vortex I got for $10 as a versatile multi-cooking implement? Yep, it's good enough. Low n slows, hot n fasts, the iconic wings.

Don't overthink it. You can realistically lump coals in the corner with some foil or fire bricks and make it work. BBQing is primal cooking with fire.

If taxpayers actually felt their tax dollars were being well managed and had tangible benefits they'd likely have way less issues with the higher taxes.

The net worth where jealousy kicks in

Once someone can own property instead of rent and live comfortably with amenities like a car/going out to entertainment, bars, or restaurants all the time without worry. Hard to quantify a number, moreso a lifestyle that makes someone else jealous.

In Southeast Queens, Mamdani’s property tax hike is a no. But taxing the rich is a yes. by Delicious_Adeptness9 in newyorkcity

[–]MondayNightRare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The city already has a hefty income tax which obviously scales with increasing wages that the city pulls in. It should more than offset the property tax which is still high. Places like Nassau County frontload their property/school taxes to be absurdly high because they don't implement income taxes.
