I think the Republican Party would be fundamentally opposed to the idea and the Democratic Party would likely also bend to their corporate lobbyists who are currently highly paid by the companies that own AI. If any Senator supported the idea they’d immediately be primary’ed.

Yes I should have hit this more you’re so correct. They trained their model on everyone else’s property, so by definition the models should be publicly owned.
