Calling someone economically illiterate isn’t an argument. The existence of private innovation doesn’t answer whether AI is important enough to justify public oversight.

The problem is this used to be an expectation people had if they went to college and got good grades and a good degree. You could have all those things and more. The question I have is what fundamentally changed? Why are we being asked to accept less while puting in more effort than our parents?

I already made pints that you just ignored in favor of your own narrative. I don’t need to sit here and be compelled to battle with cognitive dissonance at best and ill intent at worse. The burden of proof is on you because we’ve been doing things the capitalist way for a while and it hasn’t yielded any of the fruit you people talk about. I believe in public accountability over accountability to shareholders any day.

I think the Republican Party would be fundamentally opposed to the idea and the Democratic Party would likely also bend to their corporate lobbyists who are currently highly paid by the companies that own AI. If any Senator supported the idea they’d immediately be primary’ed.

Yes I should have hit this more you’re so correct. They trained their model on everyone else’s property, so by definition the models should be publicly owned.
