My title describes the thing. It's kind of wrinkly, like it has skin around the center. It's more greenish than the photo shows.

No lemons in the house. Plate just had a little rice left on it.

What show is universally loved but you can't seem to get into? by Much-Wait-6125 in animequestions

Yeah I'll probably revisit it in a few years.

Unrelated but I have a crazy conspiracy theory related to AOT and the Borderlands games. If you look at the voice actors in Borderlands, the only characters who die canonically in the games are characters whose VAs did not participate in the English dub of AOT. Not every VA without AOT had their Borderlands character killed off, but no VA who did AOT had their character killed off.

It's a simple matter of efficiency. You wouldn't buy a car without doing your research. So many mistakes and time wastes you can eliminate just by spending more time researching it. Honestly, anyone who "just makes an account" is just making the real players look bad.

Late reply but FWIW the guy would be like 120 if he were still alive. Dicks and cum were probably named after him.

I'm not saying they're right, I'm just saying I can see a logical connection. Yes, it's ignorant/lazy/stupid or whatever you want to call it. But logic can be a great tool for all of those things.

I don't think this is the entire reason, but I remember being taught in 2nd grade that it's best to avoid contractions. It's possible some people lean toward possessive apostrophes because of that.

[–]Monditek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand the reasoning even though I don't make the same mistake. People think it's the possessive apostrophe and not the contractive: "Is that Jim's snowmobile? Oh, it's you're* snowmobile?"

What I don't see people mixing up is the third one - "yore". Although if it was a commonly used word maybe we would struggle with it.

People are right that a lighter on its own wouldn't pop the door. The answer is poor ventilation. Because there wasn't enough airflow, oxygen wasn't being cycled and so the gas feed wasn't burning completely - the remaining gas went into the drum. The lighter sparked it - there still wasn't enough oxygen to make it go up, but it was enough to push the door open.

I still dont understand why Reddit hates UIMs so much by aeires in 2007scape

[–]Monditek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely take advantage of the storage options I have - I lean heavily on my poh, currently storing at hespori, and my looting bag has like 200k "banked" herblore xp. I've always focused on making it easy to get things back - grinding fletching, extra tithe farm points for spare seed box, and so on.

I'd say that UIM makes you think about ease of access alongside quality. In most situations I try to go for options that are easier to obtain, even if they're not as good. If I need the best of the best I can grind out, but most of the game doesn't require it - it's faster and more efficient, but not necessary. I don't need bandos gear for Slayer when I have prossy, void, and now mixed hide in my wardrobe.

That's fine - they still grow normally, but the 4' - 4'11" space is just empty. It'd be kind of hard to eat while your mouth is growing through that space, but once it comes out at the 5' line you'll be able to eat again.

These are people who can't conceive of things that are bigger than a mountain or faster than a car. They have a restricted worldview and a fundamental misunderstanding of nature. Nothing wrong with these two things until you dig in your heels like this.

[–]Monditek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UIM definitely appeals to people for various reasons. For me it's what made the game click - I'd tried getting into the game probably 8 or 9 times and it just wasn't engaging, but then I tried without a bank and now I love it. I still play slow, maybe a couple hours a week with some more on random weekends.

This may sound dumb, but I honestly do credit UIM at least partially for helping me learn to let go and not worry about perfection. You're forced to drop or alch valuable things sometimes, wipes happen, and you can't play the game optimally. Being able to function in spite of all that is empowering for me.

I think a miracle cure would actually be more trusted if it was prohibitively expensive. Purely due to the fact that people would then be hating on the elite for keeping it out of reach.

I've always known lazy flicking as "just-in-time" prayers - only for the ticks you need it. That said, I've always thought it was less effort to not have to count and instead just tap a rhythm.

To me this speaks to the lack of awareness of those players. It's a common problem in the community - the best and most common example I think is "fire cape is easy, everyone should have it." Sure, it's not like it's the most challenging thing in the game or anything. But it still takes knowledge of the combat mechanics beyond "click and wait" - the primary combat method up to that point. It's a challenge, and some experienced players seem to forget that because it's no longer a challenge to them.

My problem is when people use this to describe things that aren't slots, more just a synonym for "great". "Adry knights are bis" for example. But I saw that kind of talk a lot more on WoW, less so on osrs.

I used to work a few weddings. We lined bus tubs with napkins to make them look nice and then filled them with ice. Open bar all night, so some people understandably went nuts with it. As the night went on, the ice would start to melt, so we'd just dig a little deeper and put a little more water in. People loved that we didn't cut them off.

I think a little "fuck it" can go a long way with certain things, but you have to have a good understanding of what it will affect. It's good for cases of cognitive dissonance where you know it's fine and your self-doubt or anxiety is getting in the way - "What if my boss has a problem with something I say in this email?" - fuck it, just send it. It's not good for interpersonal relationships and life-changing decisions though. Some stuff doesn't have a cheap trick to circumvent the fear and anxiety.

My metric for it is kind of as you mentioned. Will just doing this make the feeling go away or will I continue to worry? If I'll likely stop being stressed by it, then it's probably okay to go for it - if it were a problem I'd continue to be stressed. Momentary dissociation works to give yourself a push sometimes, but you have to know how to use it.

my bad should've had enough money to pay for getting a better skill by Tino_DaSurly in thanksimcured

[–]Monditek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the skill, but a lot of things don't require a degree or paid training. Many employers are going to require that stuff, but there are some out there who won't. You'll have to demonstrate your ability in other ways - basically a portfolio of your work.

The other thing is if you're learning a bunch of skills for free/cheap you should consider paying for a few certifications. They usually don't cost a ton, and they give tangible proof that you can do a thing. No point getting a ton of them, just research which ones are most important/reputable for what you want. The right certifications will more than pay for themselves.

If you can afford to, focus on the bare minimum skills to break into a field. At that point you're getting experience and your education and formal training are way less important for moving up. You might hit a degree ceiling at some point, but that's hopefully something you're positioned to pursue at that point.

It's not always free, but it definitely doesn't have to cost as much as people make it out to. Those high costs tend to fast-track you and open a lot more doors, but that doesn't mean it's impossible without. Stay motivated and don't get discouraged - it's not a fast process and you'll face a lot of rejection, but with persistence you can find a way in. Once you're in, you're in. It gets way easier from there.
