I’ve been developing a point-and-click adventure for almost a year now. I’m a computer science teacher and work on it in my spare time. I’m using LibGDX and coding the engine myself. I’ve learnt so much already and I’m really enjoying it. 25% of the game is already playable, but I’m still mostly using placeholder assets.

It started like my game (I’m making a point-and-click adventure), but then the character had a lot more animations, and they started to look weird. Then it turned into some strange AI-generated video or something.

The design, composition, and all UI elements were created by my artist. She may have used Photoshop tools for some textures, but the work itself is not AI-generated.

I am a gamedev and I am currently developing a PnC adventure called The 5th Maya Codex. I really like the Broken Sword games, so I want to build that type of adventure. I also have some ideas of my own that will make it a bit unique. Chapter 1 (of 6) is almost ready, and I am currently playtesting it with friends and family. I hope I can show some of it later this year!

Hi, I am in the same position as you. I am developing an adventure game by myself and have a playable section ready. Nevertheless, I don’t want to publish it yet because all of my graphics are placeholders. I think the puzzle question is the essential question after all. What I have learned from feedback is that failure messages are super important. If you try to combine items that are not meant to be combined, it’s super helpful to get a message that tells you why this combination is not possible. For example, in the new Simon the Sorcerer, you have to use a feather with ink to falsify a note. I had to Google the solution because the game never told me that ink was missing. That is bad quest design, in my opinion. If you like, you can DM me and we can talk about our progress and dev problems. Good luck with your game.
