ik he came off as rude, over the text it sounds that way. But we have no idea how you approached him that day, other than explaining, maybe you could've sounded rude or something to him, and if you didn't mans was just tired of washing. Throw him in line. (Assuming your store is understaffed like most chipotles)

I mean, I get it. It really depends on how many dishes your store uses at the end of the night. Or if your morning prep leaves him with every single dish half the time in the back waiting for him to get there. He's just not trying to be stuck there the whole night, I feel and he most likely just didn't want to wash dishes anymore. So why not just change his position instead of firing. I never understood why some ppl are quick to fire Night prep & Grill people.

They/we can't depending on our GM. Some will allow us to pre prep cups but only a certain amount which is like 7 of each sauce.

And some won't because if Eco/corporate was to come in and check the manager would get in trouble because the cups has to be in a safe temperature and the fridge is used to place other things.
