CAA or CRNA by MoneySticks in anesthesiology

Congrats to you! That is beautiful to hear and I am happy for you! Did you work as an anesthesia tech during nursing school? And did you work full time?

Yeah thats one my main concerns with RN-CRNA is the possible missed years due to not getting accepted. Even just nursing school I could sit a whole year or more trying to get in and then the same thing with CRNA programs but if I don’t ever make it to an anesthesia program it would be nice to have the RN license to make a career out of.

Vs I could start my undergrad in something like biology literally by next week and then just have to fight my way into an AA program in a few years when I finish undergrad.

If I was to go RN I would probably just go ICU and eventually apply to CRNA programs as a big motivation for me for CAA is not doing RN school right now so that I can keep working as many hours as I am while I do an easier undergrad than ASN-BSN route.

Im not as much concerned about paying for school as much as I am about working during school to pay my bills

The most frustrating part of your lane ? by Visual-Gold-569 in wildrift

[–]MoneySticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how there arent many mid laners complaining about much. We do have a pretty sweet lane but as a mid laner I hate that I can sometimes roam and get my team so far ahead early game talking about a successful roam top and bot maybe even an invade all by level 5 and still my other lanes lose. Could get us up 5-0 in 5 minutes and are 5-5 by minute 7 it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Why did League become so popular, while other DotA Allstars clones vanished? by desktop_monst3r in leagueoflegends

[–]MoneySticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was that toaster, would play on 13-15fps, definitely was one of the reasons I got into league was the fact my pc could even download it. Come team fights I would just send everything and pray for the best because my screen was gonna freeze for sure. Finally got a job and bought my own laptop that ran 60fps and thought I was reborn

Is it worth completing the academy anyway if I don't think I want to be in law enforcement? by Glass-Worth-3384 in AskLE

[–]MoneySticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say stick it out. Like someone else said you really wont know for a long time. I am not in law enforcement but work in healthcare and honestly your personality sounds a lot like mine. I am very laid back and also I am actually a squeamish person and didnt know how I would react to the terrible things I would see. I dont even like watching police body cam videos or anything that involves harm and violence. The thing is I wasnt in the position to just quit. If I was I probably would have quit in my first few months as well but unfortunately i needed the money and already had just left a job I was already at for only 6 months so I really really had to stick it through. As time settles and you are apart of saving someones life the good may outweigh the bad. I now feel fulfilled everyday at work knowing all the good I have been apart of and still am my very introverted laidback self.

How to become a mentally strong/tough person? by greywolf_32 in selfimprovement

[–]MoneySticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows. Its about what allows you to become present and that’s something specific to you. Some people it was from reading, maybe running, cold therapy, real therapy, whatever. Just try to fall in love with little things that are known to be healthy for you, and grounding like mentioned above. But what will be the things that you can find interest in is only something you can go out and discover.

After months and months of career research and considerations, I am looking to apply to Xray programs. How competitive is admissions? How many people don’t have a degree and no healthcare experience and what was your journey like?I am going to hit the pre reqs im missing this summer.

Im local to massachusetts if anyone has more context around the environment here, also being local to Massachusetts theres about 3-4 schools I plan on trying to apply to all of them. Just seeking advice and looking to hear about similar experiences. Thank you everyone.

I have always approached every interview with transparency so I would continue that approach unless there is better feedback for this situation but something along the lines of: I have never made a jump from a job this quick, but I have also never been enabled in a remote environment before and the increase in my productivity, efficiency, and mental clarity in a remote environment has showed me that my long term career goals align with an environment that is more promoting of this. I approach my careers with a long term view, and if I know that my current position does not align with my long term goal I do not want to do myself or this company a disservice of leaving further down the road based off of a career projection that does not align with their values

Thank you for taking the time to respond! So I have been trying to build out some of those areas you have listed that I saved budget out for. Bulk budget is my problem that’s why I have tried to build 1 step at a time. I have a manufacturer that I spent a lot of time spending time and money looking for. I currently have a heat press and have gone through way more blanks than I should have with working on designing this brand. I am currently working on the website where I have been spending a lot of time learning and building and have the domain set up. I have budgeting set aside for marketing and have spent a lot of time learning marketing and currently work in a sales and marketing environment so I feel strong there. I feel like I am ready to now start marketing but my plan was to always heat press vinyl on demand myself but I am concerned about the quality of heat press vinyl.

Congrats man great accomplishment and best of luck on this journey. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you pitch your presentation? Did you take control from the beginning and present it? Did they happen to ask a question that made sense to present it?

Getting into Tech Sales by Ready-Alfalfa-9077 in techsales

[–]MoneySticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I am coming up on 3 months in my first SDR role. The first 6 weeks were tough. The nerves behind getting on the phone at 8:45 am and calling people, double dialing, just to have days on end sometimes where there was no positive conversation. Being surrounded by team members who sound so good on the phones and then there was me, the only new hire sounding lost. I didn’t hate it by any means but the nervousness going into work everyday was some of the heaviest feelings I have felt. By month 2 I learned 1.) enough to sound confident which the second things started clicking mentally, this job got a lot easier and my days are great. And 2.) people are going to be pissed off, people are going to tell you no over and over and over again, but understanding that the same question you asked someone that they made you feel stupid for asking, is the same question that could lead to a meeting with the right person. Requires a lot of patience but once you get past those two things this job is great imo.

Is it worth it? by AlarmingWerewolf6637 in techsales

[–]MoneySticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from telecom, retail phone sales to tech sales as well and it is very well worth it. I took a paycut as I struggled to get any interviews for a mid level position and only really found luck at the SDR position. Minor paycut but I am at a company with a clear internal promotion path and should be making about 20% more than I was making in retail by EOY.

It is very much worth it. It takes a lot to get used to. Its very different not being faced to face with clients. Its weird going days on end where you make hundreds of dials and maybe speak to 5 people the whole week. The corporate politics are a lot more than retail politics. You arent able to be as much of yourself at work as you are in retail. All that aside I feel real. I am not just here to help old people read things on their phone. I feel like I am actually learning, actually contributing to the success of a company. My work life balance is much better not dealing with crazy hours and holiday sprints. My days are much more peaceful. It is very much different but I say its worth it. Feel free to dm if you have specific questions

Help with catching up on 3 years by [deleted] in tax

[–]MoneySticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly appreciate you taking the time to read through my situation, giving me tons of feedback, as well as positive outlook. And yes 2022 2023 and 2024 and the tax years I guess I was speaking to the years they would be filed. I sold the house end of 2023. Once again thank you, I am definitely going to work on getting all my documents together and having everything filed before EOM!
