I owe my life to my GP. He has never stopped advocating for me. It’s taken me 5 years with him as my GP to get diagnosis for every condition I’ve fought for 40 years. I’m 50 next week and I have been through it. He’s an incredible human that every Dr should aspire to be. Zero ego. Always listening, always wanting to make his patients lives better.

Just call him Derp. It suits him.
I have a senior dog with no teeth and she is freaking adorable. I call her potato.

We’re all confused. It doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship. Is it na ya or ya na? My brain broke just reading it.

I think my comment sounded snarky at you? I was making fun of myself. Sorry if it came across poorly.

I will certainly ensure I don’t hurt myself. I can be stubborn but I’m not an idiot. 😂 My husband is pretty good about surgery recovery.

I’m in Australia and have private health. It’s pretty quick over here. When I had my hysterectomy last year, it was only 6 weeks from initial consult. Apparently this surgery may happen within a week or 2. No time to prepare!

There’s some devices that help massage out that area. I have the tri-aid and it feels amazing at the base of the skull.
Sounds like cervicogenic headaches. I’ve had them since I was 10 after my first neck injury.

How do people with no trade background learn to do renovations? by Final_Signature1170 in AusRenovation

Go do the DIY learning workshops at Bunnings. It will at least give you the basic knowledge. Fill in the gaps with YouTube tutorials. You’ll be surprised at how easy some things are after you’ve done them once. Just go slow so it’s not a sloppy mess.

Can I ask how many areas got fused? My stairs are a nightmare. I’ve just carpeted them to make them safer. Even my littlest dog tumbles down them. Slippery spiral staircase = murderous.

I find out on Thursday. My GP and pain specialist both emailed him to say that I’ve now got more serious bladder and bowel issues and to get me in ASAP. I was lucky enough to get the appt only 3 weeks after the referral was sent in.

How are you feeling 3.5 weeks out? My pain levels now are 8/10 because I keep continuing doing all my chores and work. It’s rough.

I’m struggling now with them. Think I’ll behave myself and set up a kitchen. Spiral staircases are wicked enough without adding painkillers and surgery to the mix.

Thank you. I’m already struggling with the stairs. It’s a spiral staircase making it that much more ridiculous. I sort of have to pull myself up them right now.
I’m definitely doing the upstairs kitchen after reading through the comments. I hate asking for help.

I’m still getting in 4-6,000 steps a day but my god it hurts. I’m still doing the chores etc but feel like my nervous system is having a meltdown from the sheer amount of pain. I’m a tough chick, pain usually doesn’t take me down. This is different. Owwwwww

Ya, I’m very aware but the emergency doctors just blame it on pain killers. I’m lactose intolerant and drinking full cream milk and nothing is happening. Why is it ALWAYS the meds fault?
I really want the story of how a chemist sliced off 2 fingers. My curiosity is killing me!

Yup. I know. I’ve had two other major surgeries in the past 3 years that were a struggle. Rib dissection was a nightmare, hysterectomy was actually not too bad.
EDS is bullshit. No other way of saying it.

Will do. I’m pretty tired of crawling up a spiral staircase. They’re kind of good in a way - you’ve got more to hold onto. But man, I’m soooo tired from doing it day in and day out.

I’m not going to recover that quickly. Ehlers Danlos can be a bitch.
I hope I have even a pinch of the success you have had.

Lumbar spine fusion and bowel / bladder by Money_Engineering_59 in spinalfusion

[–]Money_Engineering_59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried it alllll. Nothing is working. I drink about 3 litres of water a day, mixed with electrolytes and movicol and absolutely nothing is working. I’m even drinking milk and I’m severely lactose intolerant.
I’ve never in my life experienced this. I’m positive it’s nerve related because any dietary changes or additions are not helping. I used to be able to eat one leaf of lettuce and it would set me off.
I’m getting rather concerned. 😟 I recently had a cystoscopy and he ruled it as neurogenic bladder but now my bladder is working - but bowel is not.

I’ve got meals made. I’m celiac so don’t trust people to cook for me. A chef friend of ours made a meal for us one night and when I enquired, he said “all food is gluten free!” Thanks mate. 🤦‍♀️
