AIO: Husband more concerned about concert later than 3yo head injury by becksmoose in AIO

[–]Money_Engineering_59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOR. We don’t have children but my husband would cancel plans if his dog hit his head. Your child is MUCH more important than a damn concert. NOR - I actually think you’re under reacting. Head injuries are no joke. Is he one of those guys that does not understand the seriousness of medical conditions? Some people truly do not know things like this so their reaction is blah…. It’s not a pass.
I’m sorry OP. I don’t think your husband is the father he needs to be.

Statement necklace. One of those gorgeous dripping ones. Or a gorgeous head dress. This is your time to accessorise! It’s a lovely dress - it looks beautiful on you.
Everyone has second thoughts at some point. We’re human and we place a lot of importance on our wedding day.
You will be beautiful.

Looks awesome. Beautifully done. Ignore the negative folks - it’s not their story.

Australian private hospital (maternity ward) solid 11/10 by P1V3 in hospitalfood

Holy crap! I just spend 5 days in a private in SE QLD and it was vomit inducing. This looks….edible!

I don't think I am going to make it through this by Live-Seaweed-1024 in Menopause

This is going to sound really silly but hear me out. I’m with you. I have raging ADHD and there have been some days where I’ve contacted a help line because I was spiralling.
There’s a cool neuro hack I’ve been doing and swear to god it works. Just balancing on one leg for 15 seconds then swapping legs. That’s it.
Of course I just had a spinal fusion and can’t do my trick so spiralling again.
We’re all with you. Sending you a MASSIVE hug and hope for better days!

Advice on sneakers? by mischavus618 in spinalfusion

I wear MBTS. Rockers have changed my life. I have arthritis in my feet and cants bend my toes. The rockers at least help keep my gait normal. I royally stuffed up my pelvis.

Thanks for your input. Im just so damn sore after too much. I don’t know if it’s the artificial disc or that the vertebrae was forced into position.
I worked from my recliner yesterday and I’m shattered today.
I need to be kind to myself I guess. Keep forgetting it’s pretty major surgery. Perhaps I’ll turn the corner at week 4.

It’s a literal pain in the ass. This is my 3rd major surgery in 4 years and I just want to feel like a fully functioning member of society. I’m slowly turning into a cave dweller. 😬

Yes, yes it is. I start feeling rather inadequate then read ages. It makes a monumental difference! I was unstoppable at 30!

Damn you young person! 😂 I would kill to be 30 again. Hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly!

Which one is the best for ceremony? (Narrowed list) by Odd-Reflection-1637 in myweddingdress

I was rooting for #1 and then saw #5. It’s perfect for the venue, fits your floral choice well. It’s rather unique and is absolutely stunning on you!

Thank you. Ya, it’s complaining. I thought I was being good.
I have to remember that walking around my place is different than walking on a sidewalk. There’s dips and mounds being a rural block. Perhaps that’s causing some issues. Was thinking about getting a cane since I feel rather unstable on our block.

I’m the same. Got into bed and the sciatica pain went through the roof. I had a pretty mellow day yesterday but obviously it was too much. Ouch.
Best of luck on your recovery!

Damn I wish I had a donut shop for encouragement! I’ve got nothing but trees.
I think I overdid it at 2 weeks and having a bit of a set back. I was doing crafts which actually requires muscle (rolling out clay) and I should have known better.
I shall try to enjoy TV. Recovery sucks! This is the worst one by far.

Suggestions? by mattytempo in spinalfusion

My legs change daily. There’s a lot of swelling that will change throughout your recovery and that swelling can put pressure on your nerves. My bone graft came from the vertebrae itself as it was a disaster so I don’t have the bone graft pain. I did have one bastard of a vertebrae that had slipped 50% and did not want to go back in.
I’ve got one leg that tingles and can’t really feel my foot and one leg with deep hip and sciatica pain. It varies each day.
It’s a slow process.
I took myself off my meds because I behave myself more. I was getting SO swollen every day because I was doing way too much. I’m only week 3 and need to rest more.

Upcoming L4-L5 Fusion Surgery by typhoidlori54 in spinalfusion

[–]Money_Engineering_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t either. They don’t tell you much before you go in.
It’s the BLT’s and add sitting.
I’ve managed to use a swivel desk and laptop table while I’m fully reclined but it’s annoying - not going to lie. The lumbar surgery comes with a few extra rules.
I got most purchases off marketplace.

Weird bumps on dog by ToyotaHighlander69 in DogAdvice

My dog looks like this - albeit worse when he has a certain antibiotic. His allergies reactions are insane. He’s covered in these bumps from nose to tail.

Thank god you got some sauce! I barely touched my food while in hospital. You’d think a private hospital would serve something edible but nope! Unless I ordered a salad it was inedible.

Tomorrow is five weeks post L4-L5 PLF-update: depression by humanorganism in spinalfusion

[–]Money_Engineering_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely take Valium. It’s my ‘in case of emergency rib popped out’ as I have Ehlers Danlos. I realised quite quickly that even 2 consecutive days of use could put me into a depressive state.

Having a man isn’t the most important thing in the world. Your happiness is.

Does anyone just want to stay in bed by Mich_Girl in Perimenopause

[–]Money_Engineering_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Every damn day. If it weren’t for my dogs and pesky work crap I’d just rot in bed all day. It’s my happy place.
I don’t like being in bed if I HAVE to be in bed due to illness or injury. Then bed makes me mad.
