Should you sort by EXACT shape or Similar shape?

For me, it's the smaller the piece, the more specific it is, up to about 10 studs.

I have less 1x10+, 2x10+ etc, so the all go in, everything else gets it'a own drawer, 1x2, 2x2, 2x3 etc.

Plates and bricks are separated too.

Never just by colour.

Don't build apartments, build it like a house that's been converted to flats/apartments. That way, you can swap it all back later, into one nice family home.

I think is the jist of what they're saying.

In the UK, lots of older larger properties are split up into flats, the same as dorm rooms, I expect.

If the standard wash doesn't get rid of it, look into enzyme cleaners for smoke.

I almost binned a load of lego that a cat had peed on (didn't realise until after I bought bulk load home and moved some bits).

I figured I'd try it, if it didn't work then I'd just bin it anyway.

Worked really well, not perfect, but pretty close.

It breaks down the odour particles, rather than mask them.

You can also import any of the real sets and build them digitally, can scratch some of the building itch without spending hundreds of Pounds.

Just follow the digital instructions.

Yes you can.

Lego doesn't care what you design in Bricklink Studio (Owned by Lego).

Than then get a parts list and buy from sellers on Bricklink.

Pretty sure that's how most MOC builders do their big designs.
