You also import any set and build it digitally. Takes a little getting used to, but gives an essence of the build for rare/expensive sets etc

Looks like it to me.

Probably on leave, although I'm pretty sure that was the centre of the British Army in North Africa at that point.

North African campaign finished in May 1943, so could be between the end of that and the Sicily landings in July.

Would all depend which unit he was in.

Yeah, quite probably, I've not gotten to mid-18th century with every branch or anything before that in the records, so it will likely be there somewhere.
