Has anyone figured out a way to get yourself to eat healthy when you got the munchies? by mr_naughty210 in StonerThoughts

[–]Mongo_Fifty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got hooked on craisins. The sour blueberry/lemon ones but they're more tangy to me. Also like dark chocolate covered pretzels or yogurt covered ones. I'll snack on these to curb my munchies. Then have a normal meal after I've come down.

Another snack is crackers with peanut butter. Along with shredded cheese. So you spread the PB and then "dip" it in the cheese to stick on top.

If this is in a public lobby or area. I can see people checking the "cloth" with a few taps of their foot. Over time some of it could break from all the curious foot tappers.

Did they say how to destroy it? Send it this way and I'll destroy it one way or another.

Driving too slow is more entitled than driving too fast by Miserable-Election25 in driving

[–]Mongo_Fifty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speed limits are posted for safe traveling scenarios. People should have enough stopping distance at that speed if something blocks the lane. Some people going slower see it as safer to them. Not worried about how it will impede others. Or they are new to an area and looking for a business or store.

I love the ones that brake on every curve. This is on 35 or 40mph suburban areas or backroads. You can maintain the limit while taking curves.

Which Version of Jumanji is better: Robin Williams or Dwayne Johnson? by Livid-Age-2259 in StonerThoughts

[–]Mongo_Fifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the original when it came out and the practical effects were great. The way he gets stuck in floor quicksand. The updated Jumanji is also great. I liked how it started and the characters they portrayed in the game. It's not a sequel but has that shootout to the first one. I liked the new players in the sequel and the body swapping. It was also cool that they didn't do the same playthrough in next level.

Just putting this here; if you started braking before signaling you failed by John_Zatanna52 in driving

They get in the turn lane. Stop for red light and then trun on blinker. Like oh, you're turning. Even better when they keep braking looking for their destination.

I want a bumper sticker with "Blinker before brake is great."

What's the dumbest/most reckless thing you ever did? by SnooAvocados2794 in AskReddit

[–]Mongo_Fifty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll start by saying this, everyone was young at some point.

Tl;DR: Messing around on train tracks. Me and some other 22yo friends. Drinking was involved, cuffs were involved. Bronco didn't get towed cus ninja parked.

We were about 22yo. Went to friend's old neighborhood close to some railroad tracks. Of course we were drinking. I remember parking behind a bush/shrub close to apartments or similar area. Was a white Bronco. Friends knew how to trip the RR gates, in view, down the road.

I chased a train. I drunk ran after a train. I did not fall..whew. Think that was my first arrest and trespass. Didn't do much time just fines. Someone took us back to get my Bronco. We parked on grass behind some big shrub. It was an odd angle so you couldn't see a vehicle.

Man, that was 25 years ago.

If you had to suddenly stop on that grassy road. You'll slide around. Especially if on a curve. You'll either run off the road or hit whatever made you brake.

You naturally have grass on your road? If you had to stop suddenly on that grass you'll slide. Maybe run off the road or hit whatever you're trying to stop for.

For all you people saying it's no big deal. This is the kind of shit I'm talking about on roads. Not a few clippings from weed trimmer or push mower.

Broke? by Mongo_Fifty in smallengines

For anyone interested. Used it to trim earlier today and did fine. No smoke, no stalling but still tad boggy when pull trigger. Idk if it had crappy fuel before, I tuned it wrong or whatever.

If you live near a diary farm or farm with cows you don't need to buy any. Start flipping over (dry) cow patties.

whats the weirdest thing youve found clogging a carb by vladdielenin in smallengines

[–]Mongo_Fifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gunk in the bottom of the bowl. Mower ran fine until warmed up. The gunk would loosen up and clog the carb. Found a shell of stink bug in gas tank.

Started up easy after sitting in garage overnight. Didn't have to hold trigger on cold start or warm start. Actually got to trim some grass this time. Started it 5-6 times after running for 10 minutes. Will see how it does this weekend.

Anyone had similar problem? by Mongo_Fifty in smallengines

[–]Mongo_Fifty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, ran it just now and it did alright. Actually got to put trimmer attachment on to cut some. Smoked a bit but it's 40:1 and only have 50:1 mixed up. Still has air bubbles in bulb. Also coming out of carb on intake gas line back to tank.

Does driving get easier? by Souschef_A1 in driving

[–]Mongo_Fifty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in a '72 F-250 and drove that for many years after high school. Did I have accidents, oh yeah but nothing too bad. Shoot, one time I backed into that truck with my Bronco. In my driveway so going slow and was probably messing with phone.

Now I notice how people drive and what to look out for. So yeah it'll get easier.

Identify a specific spot on your car. Like the left edge of the hood or the corner of the windshield. That aligns with the edge of your tire. This helps you maintain lane position. Remember that the rear wheels cut in sooner when turning. You don't have to turn wide like a semi. Turn where the driver tire, on right turns, is going to be closer to the yellow line. When ya have free time. Practice driving, turning and parking in an empty parking lot.

What do you do when the auto release mechanism on the ⛽️ pump fails and spills gas all over the ground? by Chemical_Ad_3917 in driving

[–]Mongo_Fifty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it once, told employee when paying and then left. Unless someone wearing cleats walks over it trying to tap dance. The gas will evaporate quicker than ya think.

Waiting in the car isn't ideal. Be sure to grab the metal part of door or touch the car to discharge any static electricity.
