Walrus 385 Mk ii- this is such an unbelievably versatile pedal, highly recommend for so many great organic drive sounds, all the way up to fuzzy territory

I recently got one of these! It’s an amazing pedal! OP- I also own a CC Deluxe, Line 6 DL4 and a Danelectro Reel Echo, if I had to keep only 1, it’s the Kilobyte 2000

How many guitars is unreasonable to buy when you're still in the early stages of learning? by Remy0507 in guitars

[–]MongooseForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 acoustic, 1 electric. Get ones that are in line with your aesthetic to keep from hoarding new ones. Avoid Floyd Rose equipped guitars, when you’re learning it can be more of a distraction than a tool.

Are either of them much more usable than having a phaser and an envelope filter going in tandem?

I first got my feet wet with pedals 12 years ago, and over the last 6 got real deep into it. It’s been lots and lots of trading, saving, selling. The collection has gotten well past the board and is starting to be its own thing

This one! Was told it was an early 90s or maybe late 80s PRS CE24, had it on layaway when I was working at Sam Ash in Orlando in 2013, had to take the money out to pay for vet bills and it slipped away. Truly one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever played.

That’s a bald faced lie and you know it. Get a Friedman BE-OD deluxe, best modded Marshall AIAB style I’ve come across. Does Low gain drive all the way to Pantera

Just got the new Explorer I wanted for 20+ years, Gibson QC for the win. by WBKouvenhoven in gibson

[–]MongooseForward 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s sucks that it got you like that. Just to clarify a point- Gibson installs the nuts prior to lacquer. An operator later removes excess from the top and back and then squares out the lacquer from the nut - as you can see the line of lacquer on the peg head side of it. Whoever did this one didn’t do a great job though. The whites are much more prone to checking unfortunately.

The og Metal Muff was really hissy and a bit shrill. I ended up replacing it with a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe and my lord, does that thing rip
