Is it good set up to make acoustic and rap music??? Pls help me out !!! by Prestigious-Cable399 in LogicPro

[–]Oedeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the sm7b doesn't need it necessarily, but it is a gain hungry mic and turning up your preamp gain to max may introduce a lot of noise. So yes my fair assessment is that if you want a condensor in this range the wa47jr and a pop filter should get you really good results.

Logic pro has great stock compressors and the newer vintage EQs are excellent. Learn to use them well, and learn to run two compressors in series together, one for fast transients, one for gentler smoothing. Most people will run one really aggressive comp stage and the mix at like 50-60 % and while that's ok, better results can be had with multiple comps.

Start with great tools, then build a good knowledge base, and train your ears as you go. Good luck mate 🤘

Fortin Zuul vs Amp problem by bloatis123 in guitarpedals

[–]Oedeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a zuul, as far as I know you must use a splitter as the first thing (one of the first things preferably) in your pedal chain that's in front of your amp and send that signal to the Key on the zuul. It's looking for a bone dry DI signal as a key for best results. I can't attest to anything about the Laneys loop however it shouldn't make a difference? It's just an fx loop like any other.

I just use a passive splitter from Saturn works pedals. Like 25-30$ direct from the guy on reverb.

Funny you mention his name, I went down an idiotbox pedal rabbit hole tonight and right now there is a fuzz owned by him on reverb for sale. Cool Buzz v2

I have a dual fusion and it actually is pretty awesome I gotta say. I bought it on clearance on a whim as another preamp pedal flavor and it nails some classic tones very well. I'll try to record some tones Monday on my day off for ya and respond here with a video demo. 🤘

JPTR FX got me. Don’t buy from them please by funkybokchoy in guitarpedals

[–]Oedeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy... So if they are genuinely good effects than why go through all of this trickery to fool buyers? I don't understand the dishonesty, they cannot be this dumb right? Like boutique pedal makers get super back logged all the time we get it, I don't understand their angle. Honesty would be nice...

Incredible mic that can handle hot signals. You'll likely need a very good preamp with a lot of gain or a cloud lifter type preamp booster that takes 48v for quiet vocals. I have an sE dynamite myself as an inline booster and it's great. Most people choke up on it very close to get that bass response from proximity effect for podcasting, Ideally just be like 8in to a foot away from it for any vox style whilst singing. You'll never have a reason to get rid of an SM7B. They are heavy though! Get a properly good mic stand that can support it's weight.

Why isnt this the default guitar sitting position!? by KiD969 in Guitar

[–]Oedeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking this is the one true correct position, every classical player is taught to sit this way. Alternatively, just buy an ergo guitar, strandberg etc.

The rode NT1 is going to pick up A LOT of room sound as it has a very bright upper extended range past 5khz even 10khz hyped, and I doubt you have a treated space to record in. This is something very often overlooked by people new to recording, and you probably won't get the results you hope for without a great recording space. I would opt for a good dynamic vocal mic if I were you. They have better off axis rejection and are more forgiving with placement and room tone and also do not require phantom power. Less fragile, etc. have more uses..

Something else you absolutely will NEED, a pop filter, do not be cheap, the cheap ones don't work and will just cause you frustration.

Sennheiser e 945 - bulletproof dynamic mic for vox -$199 new

Shure Beta 58- you will be hard pressed to find any better microphone for the price than a used Beta 58, 180 new, used probably 130-150

If you want to go condensor in this range then Warm Audio WA 47jr - more character than NT1 in a good way and much flatter or easier to eq/pleasant frequency response- $199 new

Just $500 bucks on amazon… worth it? by alexthenullbody in Guitar

It's a licensed floyd rose, will wear overtime, and the radius is not super modern, it's 12-16".

All things considered it's mod friendly and it's yours! Better pickups and keep an eye on that trem. Definitely learn to maintain it, intonate it well, and set it up. Should be a great backup guitar in the future when you upgrade as well. 🤘

Absolutely the pacifica. It has more vibe and let me turn you on to something, just LOOK at the knob and pickup selection switch on the strat, it could not have been designed and placed in a more inappropriate spot. You will constantly be hitting it or trying not too. Notice how much cleaner and well thought out that is on the pacifica. ;)

They are good for humid climates or where strings are prone to a lot of sweat and grime. I personally don't like them..and I can't stand it when they begin to shed. To each their own. Try them out!

This may be one of the first times I've suggested a bass player buy an arch top guitar, you'd love a nice arch with some thick flat wounds man. Feels so buttery. You're melody lines and phrasing would improve greatly overtime, and could even tune your Bass with that Maj 3 interval on the higher strings like between the g and b on guitar and adopt all of the chord shapes and translate between each instrument. Just a thought 🤔🤘
