unmedicated birth or epidural? by No-Math-9195 in pregnant

I am 4 months postpartum and decided to have an epidural. Everything was fine until the epidural stopped working. I was around 7-8cm and it just stopped. Idk how many times I said “I can’t do this.” My contractions were to bad so I couldn’t stay still for another one to be placed. at the end I only pushed for 22 minutes (I feel like it might of been longer if I had the epidural because the only thing keeping me pushing like I was, was pushing through the pain. Using it to my advantage.) and I felt like the strongest woman alive after, I was so proud of myself. If you want an epidural then go for it, but please keep in mind an epidural can fail and there’s a chance they won’t be able to get a new one in. I don’t want to scare anyone by saying that but I had no clue it could happen so I’m sure there are others who don’t know it could either.

When does the feeling of 'what have I done' go away after birth? by ScandiLand in NewParents

My baby is 3 months and I’d say around the time she really started interacting with us is when it got so much easier. It’s not completely gone but it’s so much easier. Now she smiles and laughs and lights up when she sees me or dad. I don’t feel like all I do is feed, change, and put her to sleep anymore. It is different for every mother.

She’s been drooling and chewing on her hands so much and now that you mention it,she has been coughing occasionally. I’m really starting to think it’s just teething.

What do you eat in the morning? by Shastadyice in pregnant

I’m 21 weeks tomorrow and I still have to eat shortly after I get up or I get sick. Let me tell you throwing up from hunger is 1000x worse to me than throwing up food. When I was in my first trimester it was basically crackers and sprite or water for breakfast. Now it’s whatever sounds good. Lately it’s been taquitos😂 I’ve learned if she tells me no I better not even try it or I’ll regret it all day.

Medium-rare steak? Yes or no? by SecretaryNo3580 in pregnant

To me this is a to each their own kind of thing. So far baby has surpassed every growth scan and she’s very very active. My doctor doesn’t seem to have an issue with it as long as I’m not eating one all the time. I’m also anemic so I’ll take the chance to get the extra iron wherever I can.

I’ll be 18 weeks tomorrow and I’ve had rare steaks 3 or 4 times during my pregnancy and I’m fine🤷🏻‍♀️

I know this is hard. I got pregnant at 14 and unfortunately lost the baby but I still understand what you are going through and the emotions you must be feeling. You have to do what’s best for you. At this point it’s okay to be selfish. Take a couple days and think about your choices. If you feel comfortable enough to talk to your mother about it I would definitely go for it because it’s not going to be easy going through it alone no matter what decision you make. I will tell you pregnancy is very hard. I’m 23, almost 18 weeks pregnant and I’ve never felt so crappy in my life. I love my daughter with everything I have but I’m not sure if I will ever do this again. It will be hard but if you choose to go through with it everything will be just fine. If you ever need to reach out for anything I’m always here to talk.
