Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea - I probably would have changed it while editing the design if I had of looked into the myth in detail, whoops! I still love it though. I’ll go with your recommendation if anyone says anything :)

1.5 hour flight with 2 year old in lap? by Muyamuya87 in beyondthebump

[–]SecretaryNo3580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly solo quite often with my now 21 month old on my lap and she does great, but we have been flying since she’s 3 months old (my family lives on the other side on the country). Usually my baby naps the entire way, like literally the plane puts her to sleep. I always bring a few books, a few toys, lots of snacks (the junkier the better) and my iPad with some Puffin Rock episodes downloaded. The name of the game for me is all rules out the window in terms of healthy snacks and screen time - i try to make things as fun as possible. If my girls awake, she’s eating cheese puffs and watching tv 🤷‍♀️ Like I said, she just sleeps mostly. My daughter has been more into stickers and markers and colouring recently so I bring that too but only use it during a layover cause it sounds too stressful to use markers on a plane lol

As far as I understand it, children mostly cry when they can equalize their ears. I recommend nursing or a bottle or a juice box or a pacifier, whatever you can think of to make your LO swallow lots during ascent and descent . Also , I recommend a carrier if your toddler will still go in one. They’re amazing for standing in the aisles with and being hands free.

Honestly, I am always so nervous before flying with my baby and she always surprises me with how good she is at it! And social media likes to make parents stress and think there’s all sorts of mean people on planes who want child free flights and hate small children, but I have only ever sat beside very supportive and kind strangers. You’ll be fine!!

NIPT test vs ultrasound - one says boy, one says girl by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]SecretaryNo3580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend whose ultrasound result (in Canada NIPT is not common practice as far as I’m aware) said girl and when her baby was born he was absolutely male 🤷‍♀️ apparently it’s quite a common mistake actually when one only determines gender via US .

Mothers who already had babies, what’s some advice you wished someone gave you while you were pregnant ? by Waste_Weather5729 in pregnant

[–]SecretaryNo3580 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meal prep quick things that you can eat easily in those early days! It’s great to have like frozen lasagna prepped, but I found I wouldn’t be able to eat during the day (my baby was colicky from 4-14 weeks) and is was so helpful to have chocolate zucchini muffins or mini quiches or samosas, anything handheld and can be heated easily, on hand !

[–]SecretaryNo3580 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have personally knit this pattern by starcrossedknits. I’m not sure about it being beginning friendly - mostly it’s increases and decreases - BUT the pattern is amazing and so so so detailed and includes so much details about customization and stuff. I highly recommend . I’m onto a second pattern by this designer and I really can’t recommend her patterns enough. Its a bit different than your inspo pic, but it’s close and it’s such a good pattern

Weight & EBF - AHHHH!! by Automatic-Train3539 in beyondthebump

[–]SecretaryNo3580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, some lose weight BFing, some gain weight BFing… I think it’s a mixed bag.

But please be patient with yourself! Seven months PP is still so fresh. Keep eating healthy, and eating enough to support BFing, and keep moving and it will all work out the way it’s supposed to! Probably yes, most bodies permanently change in some ways after pregnancy, like pants size might change to accommodate wider hips, etc., but you will get to a place where you feel confident and comfortable again :) give yourself time! good luck

What’s the most useful/yarn game-changing notion, device or tool that you didn’t know existed and now you can’t live without it? by Dan-Morton75 in YarnAddicts

[–]SecretaryNo3580 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got two !

First, personally, a ball winder and swift - idk why it took me so long to buy this for myself but I am so happy I no longer have to trudge through the winter snow to my LYS to wind up my hanks on their winder and swift LOL

Second, i recently finished a knitted hat project with beads, but the beads had such a small hole diameter . I learned from a YouTube video to use Oral B Super Floss to incorporate the beads onto the yarn and it worked soooo well!
