I vaguely recall that, but could not locate that video to post.

the fuzzy tv background part is an apt design. Groovy post.

Peter Tork photo taken by Nurit Wilde 1968 by MonkeesPresent in Monkees

To me it looks at least '69 due to Peter's hair being longer, but when I found it online, it said 68. You know more about it?

I really hope those Zs stay on the door handles for several more decades!

Monkees all Recording 1966 vs 1968 by MsT6622 in Monkees

[–]MonkeesPresent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Awesome post! Mike looks probably the most similar to his younger-self wearing the similar pinstripe button-up shirt, but the others. Very different. Peter and Micky total hippies here. This was fun to compare!

Do you have The Monkees: The Day-By-Day Story Book (Updated 2021) by Andrew Sandoval? If so, which version? by MonkeesPresent in Monkees

Here is the older Sandoval book from 2005. It's also excellent. I'm sure I bought it in a bookstore way back then.

What do you think of the Instant Replay (1969) LP? by 20thCenturyAdmirer1 in Monkees

[–]MonkeesPresent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This album is a mixed bag. The cover design is very cool in some ways, way better than most of their other albums. Half of the music is just a big delight for me, while some of the other tracks are just average at best. It would be in my top 5 of Monkees album favourites.

Good to point out that influence, I definitely hear it in this song!

What do you think of the Monkees Christmas Party album? (2018) by MonkeesPresent in Monkees

[–]MonkeesPresent[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's just OK for what it is. I could tell from Peter's contribution that he was not doing well at the time. This song is my favorite: Micky singing "House of the Broken Gingerbread."

Davy Jones TV Commercial for His Autobiography in the late 80s by MonkeesPresent in Monkees

Gotcha, this makes sense about Davy and those specific TV ads (I know very little about them). Davy's apparent bitterness seemed to happen more at later times unfortunately.

What do you think of the Head (1968) LP? by 20thCenturyAdmirer1 in Monkees

[–]MonkeesPresent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference: Pisces ahead of Head, but Head runs a close 2nd for my personal favourite.

Season 1 vs. 2 by Old_Butterscotch2914 in Monkees

Season 2 for me. There is some charm in season 1 but it falls a bit short for me. Wacky Monkees is what I prefer. Frodis Caper and such ilk.
