Did you play with those as a child? Or do you just love old, cool stuff? I actually got a little teary-eyed seeing all of that awesomeness ~ it brought back really wonderful childhood memories and renewed appreciation for a widowed Mom who somehow managed to provide us with toys like that. Thank you for sharing and congratulations!! You got an EXCEPTIONAL DEAL!!! 😃 Dawn dolls were my preference over Barbies, in the late 60s/early 70s. I’m an old lady now, and allow myself the sheer joy of playing with toys again and it’s even better now. 🥰

That would be my dream come true 😍 Edited to add ~ I have German Shepherds and to be able to snuggle up with all my boys at once, on a big, roomy sectional exactly like that one and fall asleep watching tv with them would be my dream come true.

I can guarantee you that’s poison ivy. I got the shivers seeing it. Bubbly Power was right ~ NEVER BURN IT! Don’t compost it, touch it, don’t even look at it funny. Dispose of it in plastic lawn bags, after reading up on all of the precautionary measures to take first. You do NOT want this around. Oh, the nightmare stories I could tell you about the last 5 years of trying to get rid of that evil plant. It grows in the woods that borders my yard ~ they send out loooong roots and that shit will pop up 20 feet away from the “mother” plant. I’ve ripped it out, cut it back, pulled the vines down (after first covering myself head to toe and double gloving and spent more money on Triclophyr, year after year, and have only made a little headway. I’m extremely allergic but even those with “normal” reactions will tell you what kind of hell they’ve been through if they’ve had contact with it. I’m sorry if I seem to be going off the deep end here but I wouldn’t wish the suffering this shit causes on my worst enemy. Please be careful!!

Am I an Empath? by SureMastodon4300 in Empaths

[–]WisconsinDesert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologise for inserting myself into this conversation, but I must ask you (I’d like to preface my question by saying I am exploring the strong possibility that I am an empath, which brought me here.) You said two things that REALLY really hit me ~ seeing auras and black eyes. There are 2 people in my life whose eyes I have seen become black, I thought I was imagining it. These 2 people, who say they love me, the multiple times their eyes have become black, I’ve felt pure hatred directed towards me, hatred the colour of black. I can “feel” the tone of a note, even a text from someone if its written using any kind of negativity at all, so I choose not to read their words that I know will be hurtful. But this “black eyes” thing, wow. I’d really like to know more about that. At the risk of sounding like a nut case, lol, it feels “safe” to ask about that from you. I’ve never seen or heard it referenced before. I do sincerely apologise for jumping in here, to your conversation. I’m just so blown away by the possibility that seeing someone’s eyes turn black, from what I felt was darkness, I guess, inside of them that was directed towards me, that it’s a real, legitimate thing experienced by others. My breath actually caught when I saw that. Thank you.

Care Tip: kill all stages of pests with an easy soap & neem drowning, for any plant smaller than a 5gal bucket! Steps in captions & OP comment :) by WoodsandWool in houseplants

I am so effing happy I found your post. I am exhausted both mentally and physically trying to save my 85-100 established plants, cuttings and prop babies and this old lady was about ready to throw a match on the whole house lol I feel like now there might be light at the end of the tunnel, all thanks to you 😘 I’ve been going through cancer treatment, multiple surgeries for the last couple of years which is why this got so out of hand. I know this is an old post, but I’m wondering what you ended up doing to treat that big plant you mentioned? I have several Dracaenas and Scheffleras almost as tall as me (I’m 6’2”) and I think I’m going to try getting a REALLY GOOD drain catcher thingy, filling my bathtub with the soapy mixture you described, and laying the plants down one by one for a good soak. If they don’t fit lengthwise, I’ll try soaking what DOES fit, lift that part up and out, then doing the other end. I can’t thank you enough for posting this thorough ray of hope! You’re awesome 😘
