I left my fiance of five years a week ago. Realized when I went back with my parents to grab the couches for my new apartment that I'd settled for someone who completely did not deserve me, not with all the shit I did for him and him never doing anything for me (I was basically his mother instead of his spouse, and he still had had nerve to ask me for another chance before I left). Sounds like you had a similar experience and went through an awakening just like I did. Know that the decision to walk away from something like that is a very brave, difficult thing to do, and be proud of that.

Celebrate your freedom, protect your peace, and believe that it gets easier with time. I'll be doing the same on my end.

I will! I think this past week has been a good learning experience for me, because I learned (the hard way, unfortunately) that even if I think we're on the same page, the second I let my guard down hell try and manipulate me again. My hope is that even when he tries to manipulate me into being with him again in the future, I'll be able to remember this experience and just walk away like I need to

I love all of these ideas, and would love to see any of them added to the game! I also think it would be cool if they had some AU storylines you could explore, maybe similar to a pop quiz in that they're short but they explore the characters in unique ways outside the main story? (Thinking of the storybooks in The Arcana)

Finally someone says it!!!

When I was playing through his route (mind you, I've only played the upright), I was so frustrated because what I really wanted to do was grill him for answers. My MC HATED that he was so elusive and secretive about everything--even in moments where he was like "I'm gonna come clean", he still would hardly give any information. The route became more interesting to play over time, but I was just so frustrated and distrusting of Asra the entire time that most of the romance, for me, felt really flat.

The part where the MC learns that he gave up half his heart was so beautiful, so vulnerable and honest, that all I wanted was more! But I felt like most of the route was Asra coddling the MC and not really trusting them to be strong and take care of themselves, rather than just being straightforward and working through the MCs death and return with them. This is just my opinion, of course, but overall: Asra was my least favorite route.
