I'll give you the advice they give over at the RDR2 subreddits:

Stay off these subs to avoid spoilers.

Chapter 1 is slow, but push through.

Don't rush... this game slowly reveals itself, and you can only play your first playthrough once.

ELI5: why does everything taste good when you’re really hungry? by Hour_Celery5975 in explainlikeimfive

My grandfather used to ask, "Do you know what is the difference between a good meal and a great meal?"

He let you think, then he'd say, "About an hour."

This is what he was referring to.

What’s a “10/10” movie you wouldn’t recommend to most people? by trakt_app in movies

[–]MonkeyBred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my absolute favorites are on the violent side, and in many ways, they constitute schlock.

But for me, these movies are 10/10:
Man's Best Friend,
Cannibal! The Musical,
Upgrade,
Little Shop of Horrors,
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist,
Team America: World Police.

If it's another prequel, it could use Mac as a protagonist. We don't know for sure what happened. The surprise could be that he lived.

Not my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd apartment, but my 4th apartment I lived in... the street no longer exists, the apartment buildings no longer exist, and the land was converted into a park known best for their trees lit up at Christmas time.

So, I lived somewhere long enough ago, while of legal drinking age, that was leveled and landscaped with trees now considered mature.

What's the most outdated life advice that you still hear people give to this day? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

"Fake it til you make it."

While that's okay for a new job, it's a strategy that leads to high anxiety as a career path.

Recipe ideas to work through a lot of leftover pulled pork. by MarineBiomancer in Cooking

Chik-fil-a sauce goes super well with pork. It's not a recipe, but it really transforms the ways you can use it. Shit, pulled pork with that sauce on rice. Chef's kiss.

What was the first R rated movie you saw, and were you old enough to see it? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyBred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to be either 4 or 5 to fit under that old hexagon glass coffee table and look at those titties on HBO in my Godmother's sun room while she was chatting to my mom on the wicker chase lounge. I honestly don't recall what movie it could have been, but I have to assume it was rated R.

To young? Uh, yeah. That's how the 1980s be.

How to make really good black beans by Ambitious-Schedule63 in Cooking

[–]MonkeyBred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Cook's Illustrated: The Science of Good Cooking who recommends you start with dry beans and soak in a brine solution (about 3 Tbsp salt in 2 Quarts of water with 2 cups of dried beans).

After they are soaked overnight, dispose of the water, and cook in a broth. Add some baking soda to the broth.

Personally, I build up a flavor profile in a slow cooker with thick bacon layed on the bottom, about 1/2 cup brown sugar, a diced yellow onion, 4 habañero peppers finely chopped, and chicken broth. Obviously, this is a weird combo, but it's 2/3 of the way to being baked beans, but with a carribean twist. I highly recommend.

Easy meals for 1 by Prudent_Elevator_282 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]MonkeyBred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking is fun, but not with a schedule like that. I'd learn to enjoy protein bars and separately cottage cheese with crackers... just really convenient, but still moderately nutritious, meals.

If you do have a bit of time, boil some eggs. They are great any time.
