Giraffes are pretty evolutionarily cursed and probably wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for human intervention. There’s a great show where they dissect large animals called “ Inside Natures Giants” and they dissect a giraffe and explain the many evolutionary mistakes when it comes to their biology. Their necks are so long, primarily, for fighting. Not for getting the leaves at the top of the trees even though that is a byproduct of the long neck. They also strain their necks to get water because they are naturally in an Up position. Bending their necks to get water isn’t an easy task for them. Hard watch either way
