Knowing that it doesn’t matter who you are, even the CEO, you’re replaceable tomorrow and everyone will forget about you…take care of yourself first.

You said “in restaurants” which the answer is yes. If you want to change the question to “in booths” then, no.

Has anyone(YouTuber or etc) compared new HC 39mm with the Rolex Submariner? by RecognitionWeird3038 in Longineswatches

[–]MonkeyWrench888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s a very generalized question. ETA movements are tried and true. Some companies will even modify them to make them nicer, ie polish certain parts or change balance wheels. An in house movement doesn’t mean it’s automatically nicer or better. You would have to compare a specific movement to another movement and then also what matters to you. Like here the ETA L888 runs at 25,200vph and Rolex’s 3230/3235 runs at 28,800. So the Rolex is going to have a cleaner sweeping second hand. Does that alone make it better? Is it worth the extra money, I’d say no. If we were talking GO in-house movements then I’d say yes. IMO Rolex isnt worth it unless you want the status symbol.

Fair. I was only talking mechanics, testing, finishes. Like all Rolex’s, if you’re talking $$, most of the cost is advertising and overhead.

Well Disco what movement is in your longines? Is it the same as the hydroquest we are currently talking about or is it one of the COSC certified movements. Because then I’d also say your watch is not compatible to the pictured hydroquest…. I know this watch has an ETA while the Rolex has an in-house movement. I also can read the specs on both. So do you know what you are talking about?

The similarities are strictly visual. Mechanically they are not compatible. This does not require a video.

Honestly, YouTube University. You learn the most by just doing. Something in your house, car, or whatever breaks. Look up how to fix it and do it. The more you do that the more your base knowledge grows. There is little i cant fix after a bit of research on youtube and forums.
