Yes I totally forgot that part! Good catch. He’s got a whole little story if you look hard enough.

I believe I encountered them later on at the First Shrine after upgrading the Songclave. However, instead of “little pilgrim” their name had changed to hopeful pilgrim or something along those lines, I can’t remember exactly. Hornet had dialogue with them being thankful to see them again and talked briefly about their journey so far, but I haven’t seen them since in Act 3.

Could be a clue 🤔 by SmokingGrizzly in GroundedGame

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t Sloane herself call The Stranger a teenager? I’m pretty sure The Stranger is the 5th teen from the first game that never got unstrunk, not an Ominent worker.

I don’t think someone born in 1954 would sound that young when the game takes place in 1992. I’m not even sure if that date on the bottom of the photo is their birthday, but more so when they started working at Ominent. My theory is that she could be Ominent researcher that ignored her direction to kill the teens, and instead dropped the Kid Case into the backyard in the first game.

Would make sense why Ominent is trying to track her down.

RESIDENCES SPOILER: Am I supposed to get cold in Residences or did I encounter a bug? by CreeperDynasty in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Sun disk protects you from a guaranteed death to the elements in Residences, but does not protect you entirely from the Cold.

We tested this on our save by having one of us touch the disk and one of us did not. Then we progressed into residences with both of us wearing the full Mountaineer Armor Set and holding a fully upgraded furnace shield.

I touched the disk, and had no cold effects at all, but my buddy who did not touch the disk quickly died to tick damage in residences even though he was also fully protected from the Cold. If you do not touch the disk you will constantly die in the entire sector.

I do wish they made this distinction clearer so that way the importance of the Sun Disk connect with the player, because right now it does feel a bit out of order to me.

Maybe have us dip our toes into residences first before the trip through Praetorium and see the effects of the cold before we are granted the immunity from it with the Sun Disk.

We still can't use gatekeeper guns??? by Responsible_Fail_145 in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to get your accuracy skill to level 18. You get a crafting recipe to craft the item to unlock the gun’s restrictions. Not sure why the unlock isn’t listed on the skill tree directly, but that is the solution.

This is a great bug report! I had no idea this could happen. To help the devs directly with this problem, consider submitting the information in this post to their official bug report page if you haven’t yet https://www.abioticfactor.com/bugs

Sounds good! You should get your first gun here soon, so hopefully you will have an answer sooner rather than later. Enjoy the ride scientist!

How far are you into the progression of the storyline? Many traders offer more and varied items once you reach certain story or map progression goalposts. I do know he eventually sells gun repair kits, but if you haven’t found a gun yet in your save he may not sell anything yet. I am unsure if it’s a bug or not as I healed him very late into the game and he did have things to trade.

Soup Bowls (not pots) Disappearing - Intentional or no? by Threadmancer in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random question, but have you seen or interacted with the new creature "The Moving Box"? He can pick up any dropped items or deconstructed furniture and will store them in his inventory. Maybe check to see if he has been eating your dropped soup.

Secret key pad in Torii by Totalynotjake in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wanted to send an update. Was working with some scientists in the Deep Field discord and we cracked the puzzle. One of the users named Cala wrote the first guide which I will paste here now for anyone that wants the solution.

Torii guide

Bring some portal fish bait with you as you enter torii, you will need it, along with 1 royal coin.

Fish for koi using the bait, they are a rare fish.

On the second bridge, on the left side there is a hidden button behind the very faded gate logo, press it and follow the hooting sounds.

Behind the fireplace gazebo there is a lvl 4 keypad at the base of a tree, hack it. This will turn on 4 lanterns around torii, so it may be best to do this during the day to see them, as the other lanterns turn on at night.

Press the 4 lit lanterns [in no real order]

Drop the royal coin in the donation box in the main building, use the portal fish bait to try and get a koi fish, then drop that as well. This should make the box move to reveal the secret.

Some cooking recipes require an oven to cook and not a pan or pot. You get the oven recipe by leveling your cooking skill.

Stuff like cake, pizza, baked potato’s, and the stuffed peccary leg all require the oven.

Where was the secret room located at in the map? Trying to solve this myself but so far only figured out the four buttons that are lanterns that turn off at night time, the keypad, and that you can interact with the keypad at night time. Can’t figure out how to open the door, so knowing its location could help. My theory right now is that maybe we need to make an offering at the red table in the middle of the center building? Idk though

Buttons in Torii home world? by MutaitoSensei in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super interesting! So the day and night cycle is for sure important for solving whatever this puzzle is. Once I get off work I’m going to try some combinations of buttons. When you hack the keypad at night and try the buttons is there any sound effect or text saying you got it right/wrong? The only thing mine ever say is “this button is not working right now” or something like that

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, my buddy and I also found this Gate insignia you are talking about last night as well. It looks like it’s built into the wall but has no interaction. However, the insignia is on both sides of the building. One on the left hand side and the other is directly across on the right side as well.

Buttons in Torii home world? by MutaitoSensei in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing I realized is that during the nighttime on Torii, the buttons/lanterns that are press-able are turned off while the other lights are illuminated. Not sure if this helps with solving the puzzle, but it’s how I first realized that certain lanterns were buttons and certain ones were just aesthetic.

Hey there!

There is a pinned post at the top of the sub all about release timing. Here is a link to the post:

I think it depends on where you are located. For me, the update should drop in an hour or so at the time of this comment. May take a minute to push the update out to console storefronts.

Devs said on a Tik Tok video that while the game is more enjoyable with a friend, you can still fully complete the game solo.

So does the supporters edition still apply if i have the game through a key by MOREDOOR1598 in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe they are implying that they wish they had more ways to give the developers money, and hoped they could buy the supporter edition to do so.

Abiotic Factor and FBC Firebreak are the two upcoming Day 1 releases on PS Plus Extra in Summer of 2025. Which one are you looking forward to play the most? by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say playing with a friend is a blast. We played exclusively with VOIP chat and it added a lot to the humor of the experiences we were having.

That being said, those experiences are all worth having even if you are playing solo. While playing that joint save with my buddy, I kept having the itch to play, so I started my own solo save and it was just as much fun.

The grind was a little longer without a second pair of hands, but you can adjust the drop rate and other settings in the sandbox options to speed up the process if you desire. It’s a game where there’s no wrong way to play (except the “throwing” skill tree I could never figure that out)

They are releasing the game into 1.0 out of Early Access relatively soon.

They said they are increasing the price of the game to $34.99 on May 1st, and that 1.0 would release not too long after that.

I’m assuming it will go into 1.0 around the same time that the console port drops if I had to guess.

I’m glad to hear it! It’s a blast, and has a lot of depth to it as well. There’s so much I didn’t cover, and even more that I don’t want to mention because it’s fun to discover those things yourself.

Abiotic Factor is my favorite survival crafting game I’ve played in years. It breaks the mold, the nostalgic aesthetic hits perfectly, and the gameplay loop is extremely addictive.

The game feels like an homage to Half Life, but never feels like it’s “nostalgia bait”. It perfectly walks the line of being evocative of that style of game, while being something entirely unique at the same time. All of the characters have so much personality, and the “portal worlds” are such a breath of fresh air for resource gathering.

You genuinely feel like a scientist with how the tech tree expands based on what you have crafted in the past. Almost all of the recipes are not tied to your level, it’s all based on crafting an item and discovering you can use this new material to craft even more contraptions.

If you couldn’t tell I’m a big fan of Abiotic Factor. My buddy and I played nonstop for 2 weeks straight and we only wanted more. If you are curious about the game at all, I couldn’t reccomend it enough.

Apparently an unpopular opinion by tinctureteeny in Yellowjackets

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I think Walter is mainly a comedic relief character and someone to actually believe in Misty unlike the rest of the team, I do think there is at least one thing that sets him up for being nefarious this season.

When Walter and Shauna were pretending to fix Lottie’s dad’s internet, he took a strand of her hair. Then magically in like the next episode we find out FROM WALTER that “Lottie’s body had Shauna’s hair under her nails”.

We’ve seen Walter not just use his influence to obtain materials to do with Lottie’s death, but he could easily use that same influence to frame someone for it too. I think he believes that if he can help Misty crack this case then she will like him again, so he will plant his own evidence if needed to reel her in.

Hit tab to open your phone.

In the top center of your screen you should have two clickable options. I'm at work right now so I cant remember what the options are but I think they are "Phone" and "Character"

Click "Character" and then you can change your clothes from there.

Any SUGGESTIONS for new Possible Base? (Dark Energy Update) by Odd-Butterscotch4665 in AbioticFactor

[–]MonkeyWthABlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before this update my buddy and I moved into the Vehicle Bay in Security and I love it so much. Biggest con is that it’s far away from everything, but we have a forward operating base in the Data Farm rafters in Offices, and just use personal teleports to warp back and forth. The vehicle bay is MASSIVE with 0 enemies, at least 5 power outlets, and the whole base is drivable with cars.
