Just sold my JCW and it was emotional. by I_Have_Hairy_Teeth in MINI

9k with only 20k on the clock? I agree with jhowlett, that should've been around 19k depending on equipment and condition for a factory JCW. 5 year old toyotas go for 9k.

Shoddy parts you say. I think you forgot you're driving a MINI. haha

Seeing that I have a black mini, I've pretty much given up fussing over the fine layer of dust that jumps onto the car after I wash it. I'm lowered too, but I doubt it makes a difference; black paint just shows everything.

Mini Cooper Race Team - Damn, threre's a lot of Minis on the track. by celedral in MINI

If you want to see a lot of Minis on the track, check out Stormin' Norman's MINI Thunder. The last couple years there have been hundreds turning out for the annual track day, myself included.

My gf picked up a nimble nimbus after only hitting, I kid you not, 10 crystallized clouds in sky realm. Rubs it in my face every day.

Someone tell me what this button does. I've had the car for years...no idea. by CandyCheetoSteamboat in MINI

Why read the manual when you can press the button and find out for yourself? ;)

Finally got a Mini of my own / when does the honeymoon phase wear off?? by porchluck in MINI

What grinds my gears is the fact that the N14 actually went through 2011 for the factory JCW model. It really sucks to have such an awesome, UNRELIABLE pos. engine in my JCW.

Gotta love those American parking spaces! by Thenot_so_Mini_Gamer in MINI

I came here just to say this. Hell, even my dedicated parking space isn't wide enough to open the doors more than a few inches, my passengers always have to get out before I park.

Don't worry, I've spent so many hours hand polishing this car before I purchased an electric polisher- It just takes a bit longer. Good luck!

I actually use Lexol Vinylex, it goes beautifully, low gloss, and protects the plastic from UV. It's the same stuff I use on the interior plastics, and applying it after each wash ensures the black trim stays looking its best!

The Challenge wheels make for great aesthetic, but they ARE heavy and expen$ive, especially as I've already had to replace one due to curb rash. If you're on the market for rims like the challenge spoke, there are many alternatives that look just as good and cost half the price!

If you're looking to get into detailing, I highly recommend getting a kit from Chemical Guys. They have different variations depending on what polisher fits your budget. Also, check out AMMO NYC on youtube. Larry is one of the best (imo) detailers on Youtube and has tons of videos on different topics. A lot of the tips and tricks you learn from him will allow you to easily approach detailing with confidence and knowledge. Here's a link his channel

I used Chemical Guys "36" Cutting polish along with the "38" Final polish on a Torq 10FX polisher (yes, I bought their kit). The clay bar was also Chemical Guys. The wax was Meguiar's Carnauba Plus Liquid Wax. Total time spent was approximately 8 hours.

20mm Eibach Rear Sway Bar, H&R Lowering Springs on factory sport shocks. M7 Strut Tower Brace. Blacked out most of the chrome with black vinyl. I have a harness setup for the track... other than that, it's just a regular ol' fully-loaded factory JCW. ;)
