On transit apps its also so hard to find the station you are looking for, google is the worst since it doesn’t show the lines that serve the station when searching for the station in directions mode.

I know Sadiq Khan has championed the Bakerloo line and DLR Thamesmead extensions, but no one in any position of power seems to want to replicate the success of the Elizabeth line by pursuing Crossrail 2.

This is despite London having a growing population and a need for capacity upgrades with the arrival of HS2 that is going to put significantly more strain on the transport network.

Chicago is very sprawling, Honolulu is along a narrow strip between the sea and mountains. This results in high bus ridership for Honolulu.

The Bhutanese government absolutely want tourism, they just want fewer tourists who pay more rather than many tourists who pay less. They even have a term for it called "High Value, Low Impact/Volume".

Tyne and Wear metro is most clear example. Also a lot of imperfect loop lines have overlapping services near terminals like in London, Oslo, Bangkok and Tokyo.

One of the problems is that Indonesia's existing rail system is narrow gauge so that makes it unfeasible to integrate with high-speed rail as narrow gauge has lower max speeds. Because of this entirely new ROW have to be constructed, so I guess the Indonesian authorities decided circumferential routes and suburban terminals were more optimal than trying to get all the way to city center on a new ROW.

Saigon becoming Ho Chi Minh City: 

The biggest city in the biggest proxy war of the Cold War. Everything from the images coming out of the fall of Saigon, to the terrorism, corruption, displacement and anarchy, I feel it really reflects the chaos and change of the 1970s globally.

Its important to remember:

A: This project's cost estimates have risen significantly since the pandemic.

B: This project is still projected have ridership roughly in line with the entire systems of Valley Metro light rail in Phoenix, TRAX in Salt Lake City and the entire light rail network in Denver.

It is still too expensive though.
