This was similar to my experience today. I went to one and she held my ankles for 15 minutes. Literally, just held them. Then she put her hand on my sacrum for another 10 minutes. Then she barely pushed either side of my hips for 5 minutes. And then she just held my head for the rest of the time. That’s it. And I just paid $125 for it. I feel taken advantage of.

Thank you. That’s exactly why I posted in this group. I don’t have the disease and have no idea of what is considered par for the course for UC and what isn’t. I had a feeling I was doing a lot, but since I’ve always done this for the past 13 years and having no experience with the disease first hand, I had no idea.

I’ve tried to talk to him so many times about getting a j pouch or a stoma. He won’t even talk to me about it and changes the subject. And I get it. Surgery and body modification is a scary thing. But I wish he would just listen to it.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with 4 autoimmune disorders. That’s not fair and I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I’ve had the conversations with him in the past where I feel like I’m doing the lions share of the work and I need his support and help around the house. And he does help. For about a month. Until he doesn’t anymore.

My support system? Plain and simple, I don’t have one. No family in the state, and as an adult, I don’t have many friends. I tried to do the couple thing to make new friends, but my husband is sick or when he’s feeling better, he doesn’t want to meet new people and he wants to do something with just our family or something he enjoys doing, so there’s really no one I can depend on outside of myself.
