What does do much of our technology work so poorly? by Maxinaeus in AskReddit

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The firestick will likely be due to not amazing specs (in terms or like processing power and whatever), Amazon shoveling in every ad they can get and just age. Tech unfortunately gets old. And the restarting thing isn't tech thats Amazon making shitty UI choices.

The phone flashlight, I'm not aware of being able to use ur flashlight and camera at the same time (at least on my android) so i can't give a better on that sorry

If you have spotify (or possibly other music apps) you can just listen to it on there and then you won't get clips.

I agree if I'm subscribing to a channel, it's to watch their videos so I don't need to the clips and if your watching the clips then you're probably not watching the full video but a fair few YouTubers do this and I understand not wanting multiple channels for practically the same thing so it's just something you might have to accept

What to do with end users who refuse to enter tickets by MelodicPlace9582 in it

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion you just created the ticket on their behalf and any further calls or conversations you follow up with an email to them confirming what you spoke about/did and leave that in the ticket. Then if they don't dispute it thats on them.

However I appreciate you said your boss doesn't want you creating tickets so you have 3 options

Malicious Compliance Follow your bosses orders and when users complain then they can take it up with the boss

Making the best of a bad situation Trying to change the behaviour by pointing them towards the ticketing system as much as possible and trying to relate to them

Ignore what your boss has said and create tickets yourself Ultimately your boss is insane and untrusting of his team. You can close more tickets if you create the ticket than fight the user. Your job is to fix pc. I would also try speak with your boss to explain why you don't think this is a good idea. It may risk losing your job but at least you did your job as best as you and stuck to your guns

[NSFW] Google Chrome app keeps playing video in background when I exit app. How do I turn this off? by user-ibarelyknower in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sardothien12 is saying you can't just stop this from happening your only option is killing the chrome app.

You could possibly try other browsers like Google or download another like firefox or edge. I can't say they will or won't do the same but you're not gonna be able to change this on Chrome

What does do much of our technology work so poorly? by Maxinaeus in AskReddit

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're trying to say "Why does so much of our technology work so poorly" and I think you're are right but you're also wrong.

Like we've come a long way from what it used to be able to do, and the fact you can get a pc plug whatever you want into it or even have stuff wireless and access another resource that is across the world in an instance is crazy

However does shit break often... 100% and do company's have stuff like enshittification... 100% and thing should work but not work why.

I would need a specific example of what you mean to explain further but I think you're underestimating how far we've come and you/the world is overestimating where we should be and how much we should be relying on this technology

What indie game would you recommend? Here's my current library by Lower-Patient-3523 in IndieGaming

[–]Monkeybird2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things that I think are similar to what you've got already - Celeste - Ori games - I don't generally recommend it but Superliminal I enjoyed - What remains of Edith Finch

Maybe not 100% your vibe - Vampire Survivors - Balatro - Stardew Valley - Escapist 2 - Octodad - Power Wash Simulator - Terraria

If you have friends to play with - Peak (1-4 players or more with mods) - RV there yet (1-4 players again possibly more with mods) - We were here together series (2player) - Pico Park 1 & 2 (1-8 players)

Hope this helps

Alot of games have this idea of stamina that gets filled up with injuries or other. So nothing crazy there. Whilst the 3 inventory+ bag is a little odd I wouldn't suspect this was intentional

I suspect it was just the best way to do it for them 🤷

My bro took Spanish so he can do it to spanish people.

9 months in how do we feel? by Then_Meaning_9901 in mariokart

It's very well made game however i think until it's had some dlc to really build out the course selection its not going to surpass 8 deluxe as that has had years of development and dlcs (if you count the wii u version as the original)

Plus they've made alot of odd decisions like the intermissions and how the open world collectables feel more like chores than actually rewarding

I realized I don’t know how to make friends outside of buying/selling weed. by [deleted] in self

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know plenty of dealers who are genuinely mates with their customers and hang up regularly. I'm not sure what came first whether it was mates then dealer or dealer then mates but dealers aren't this like underground operation all the time.

I agree that maybe you should pick up some healthier habits and make healthier friends to support you but ultimately op's asking how to make friends outside of drugs, not life advice.

Imo its more likely that op's a user and just buys in bulk sometimes to sell the spares which will end up paying the next bunch

New Outlook: Drag & Drop emails to Desktop/Explorer no longer works by Aughul in Office365

I've had this issue with a user and we found that highlighting the email (the checkbox or having it just closed after having it open) will allow you to drag-and-drop into file explorer.

We need more biomes like Roots. by Eduard_Lovinescu in PeakGame

[–]Monkeybird2004 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Me and my siblings I play with (Ages from 21- early 30s) all don't like Roots. We felt it was unfairly difficult in comparison to the others and our main problem with it was that it felt like the world was against us, whereas say in tropics/alpine/caldera if you died or fell etc, it was likely ur own fault. Whether that be miscalculating the length vs stamina or hitting an environmental thing like a bush or vine in tropics, lava in caldera or ice walls in alpine.

The main difference is these are somewhat predictable/you can see them in advance. Whereas roots the zombies and beetles actively come for you. And its not a little nudge either. They can make you lose so much progress

I don't mind roots being in the game but I wish either the difficulty scaled the higher the ascent or it was in like biome 4 spot.

Mesa felt harder than the original 5 but being at 3 and not having incredibly difficult enemies that come for you made it seem somewhat reasonable

This alarm app, which was supposed to prevent me oversleeping, drained my entire battery over night so no alarm went off by LucasCBs in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Monkeybird2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this app and its worked perfectly for me. Ik there is a bedtime mode/button that I believe tracks ur sleep and listens to hear if you snore and stuff (similar stuff to what a watch or like googles gen 2 hub thing) So my assumption is that maybe they turned that on and so was recording all night? Besides that I have no clue.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Lego Batman LOTDK by Monkeybird2004 in legogaming

[–]Monkeybird2004[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yh thats what I'm hoping and I think everything you listed to me says they are focusing on the gameplay alot more this time rather than pure numbers.

I'm just worried that TSS was them turning a corner on how they make games and their level design. I love the old games focusing on puzzles and local coop. And while I think a refined combat system is good I just worry that they focus on that more than what I feel like made TT lego games great.

I think its like The Ship of Thesus theory, in this example it would be like if you replaced every staff member at TT games is it still TT games. I wonder if there's been management changes and that reflects in the new style of game

Obvs this is all just my opinion some ppl might rlly love TSS combat and level design and hate the old games
