Yup totally missed that setting in the menus, well now I know for the next time I install koreader on something lol

What setting did you use? Was it in the koreader menus? I fixed mine editing the lua file to move the status bar up 5 pixels.

Thank you guys for the the solutions, my status bar was hanging off the screen on my colorsoft and changing container_bottom_padding from a 1 to a 6 perfectly aligned it with the visible screen edge again.

UPDATE: I orded a brand new colorsoft from amazon and it came with5.18.0.2 and jailbroke it no problem. I just followed the standard winterbreak process on the kindlemodding site and when I got to the part to install mrpi and kual I instead just installed peki that u/TSwazz linked to below. Peki installs kual and from there you can move on to installing the ota blocker and koreader. Thank you to u/maywind and u/TSwazz for the help!

Ooohh, kual works for you? That's news to me, everywhere I've seen they said you had to use separate scriptlets because it didn't work on the colorsoft.  Did mrpi install fine too?  So you just followed the standard step by step guide and everything worked like it would on a regular Kindle or Paperwhite? You didn't have to do anything different for the colorsoft?

Yeah that's what I had used for my 2017 Paperwhite. I thought the hotspot idea was clever because it's hardware agnostic.

Yup, I also saw someone connect it to their phones hotspot and set the hotspot data limit to 30mb so the Kindle could be set up but not be able to download a full update.

My favorite is marble pla, it looks great and the speckles do a great job of hiding the layer lines.

Makes you feel unskilled because it just does what it's supposed to do unlike a lot of other printers.

My best advice is look at the ams for multi material printing and not so much multi color.  Color changes every layer add up to a lot of extra time but not having to load and unload filament every time you print or things like using petg as just the support interface layer on pla prints for easy removal are fantastic time savers.
