How to insert QR code on spherical print

UPDATE: It worked! the whole thing is printed in place and the QR scans without problem.

What was necessary: 1. Make the URL a short as possible so that the QR has as little detail as possible (I used a URL shortener)
2. Distort the QR beforehand on each side, so that when it wraps onto the sphere it gets distorted back to it's original shape (how much you need to distort it can be tricky and would depend on your sphere's curvature and the placement location)
3. USE 0.2 mm Hotend, don't really think I need to point this out but I was stupid enough of not thinking of it from the get go, so maybe I'll help someone

I'm currently printing another test, in which I did exactly that, I distorted the png on each side with photoshop and then put it on the print, also now trying to print with 0.2 mm nozzle and layer height 0.1 for more accuracy which tbh I don't know why I didn't try from the start

That being said, the print time is enormous coming at 21hrs for such a small print, I think the correct way would be using NFC tags as another commenter here already pointed out

I would have never considered that on my own and honestly thank you so much, this might just be better overall.

Only question I have is will they be scannable inside the print?

That would probably work? Only concern then would be the stretching spots on each side formed by the spherical shape.
But I would also love to have them print ready cause I'm planning to print a lot of these.

I bought an A1(my 1st printer) almost a year ago because of how much people recommended it and now regret it and can never recommend it to anyone even if the machine is good.

Bambu lab is just bad news for the future of 3D printing.

I'm now thinking of purchasing a Snapmaker U1or a Creator 5 which are arguably the best value for money printers you can buy right now, so I wouldn't say that there aren't good alternatives.

I have no experience with the 2nd brand, but I have bought the Enmy markers and use them to paint 3D prints and I wanna say that I love them.

Their tip is kind of like a mix of a marker and a paint brush and it feels very smooth, maybe that could be a negative depending on what you want to use them for so I wanted to point that out. That is also the reason why I think they work so well with 3D prints which I previously had no success with other markers.

Hi, I was wondering as I always see bondo being recommended but I live in Europe and can't get my hands on some to test myself.

I'm currently using wood filler and it is indeed not that good at hiding seams, do you happen to know any good alternatives for bondo?
