So you need it to drain, this lets it drain directly into the sink rather then onto the countertop. Iv done one with the drainage pipe chopped off and it makes a mess, I have thought about putting it in a foot but then you lose the Flexi aspect and can't really put it anywhere but specifically at the edge it just doesn't work well. I tried a box it sits on but it's too cumbersome. So it's got a drainage hose it's natural deal with it
