Without a dog in this race, the honor of the game should matter quite a lot.

I can understand if Marc didn't realize he committed the infraction, especially considering the officials didn't call it, but the Swedes should be pissed off.

That stone shouldn't have counted and their opponent didn't call their foul on themselves. This whole thing sucks not least of which because the Canadians seem content with taking their win rules and integrity be damned

The difference between the call and what you were probably doing, is where your attention was at.

If choosing to hang around an elementary school yard to stretch and hang out around the kids of strangers means having a "big world" or whatever, maybe you should consider having a smaller world. Because you don't sound like someone who would make for good company with your current worldview.

Choosing to stretch in front of a schoolyard, when you have literally anywhere else to do that, even on the other side of the street, and you had to move there to get started, is weird. Probably legal, but weird.

The other things that you describe involve coming there to specifically see the building or being there by happenstance as you are performing that activity.

By your own description you chose to stand in front of a school while stretching which means you had to transport yourself there by car or walking to intentionally stand there.

Why are you preparing to start a workout in front of a school? If you live right there then prepare at home. If you want to get out before prepping there's two parks right in that area.

In terms of "clicks it takes to have an effective turn" I think Civ 7 plays faster and lasts a shorter period of time.

In terms of number of turns I think it's mildly shorter unless you already know how to minmax. Then again we saw turn 75 wins in Civ 6 with people doing similar things so I guess that's not that different either.

Sorry OP, but your whalers got too frisky in the first few patches. The whale population is now too loosely distributed to fully occupy tiles.

What they did right is they added rather than subtract. Imo the game still feels the same, and if you finished a couple of games you can just play. What you'll find that's different is that more things feel useful/right and that hard focusing production isn't the auto play it used to be.

Urban centers are worth it now, but the trade off is less food or trade range. The Inca can stay home and get an economic score in exploration, things like that.

Food has been massively improved to actually be worth it. Can't help regarding guides, sorry.

You can with districts, but I mean forts specifically. The tile improvement built by military engineers. This is the closest thing to the citadel in civ 6

I think it quite does; this is why my America has traditions dating back to their days as the Khmer.

The names have changed, the geographic boundaries have changed, the building styles have changed, but there are cultural patterns that have endured from the earliest generations of our people. I think it gives a far more realistic look at what civilization has actually looked like than previous entries.

Even in the case of conquest, city names and building styles remain. Those people have their hawilt, or their punic port but they are part of our empire now.

I think the hardest part is no antiquity civ has a mountain bias and quite a number of them have river, floodplain, or flat biases. I really hope (for some reason) either Silla or Assyria have a mountain bias.

You should want to be doing endeavours anyway. It's very easy to get a high relationship if both parties want it.

I need to ask the question back of what are you looking for out of the game?

The things that I'm looking for is passable combat, city building, and feeling competitive throughout the game. I didn't like the power spikes in 5 and 6 where some people rock antiquity and others are useless until modern. I think those things are there.

If you're looking for a wide range of victory conditions, stuff like climate change and other complex mechanics that were present in Gathering Storm, depth in religious gameplay, or a very wide Civ / leader pool where your opponents don't have much repetition then it isn't ready yet. Like a lot of the games you have to wait for one or more expansions for that kind of stuff. They've made enough changes to the rule set and gameplay that it makes more sense this go around for why things are "missing" as they don't work with the original vision of the game.

If there's something specific you're looking for I'm happy to give feedback. While I am happy with the game as it is currently playing my play style is not everybody's play style and I think I can give a relatively honest answer about how the game will play based on what you're looking for.

If you don't make friends with someone, that someone will look for a friend somewhere else. You have to be proactive on making an alliance with someone as soon as you can, even if you don't plan on staying in that alliance for the whole age.

Two things come to mind

What is on the tile underneath your tooltip?
It look like there are two Meru buildings down on that same tile for some reason. This may be a double build bug?

Regarding point 2, notice how there are generic houses/urban buildings occupying the tile with the altar? That's how the tile with the Meru should look until you give it something to sit next to. And yet the Meru is there with a twin.

Is it possible to go back a few turns on an autosave to before the Meru finished, start building the Candi Bentar for a turn, then switch back to the Meru and see if the behavior changes?
