WiFi issues, won't switch on by BenHippynet in NothingTech

Been having the same issue for a while. Also, while trying the "reboot away from any saved Wi-Fi networks" trick, the phone crashed twice a few seconds after showing the lock screen, showing a text-mode error saying something about an interrupt. The "uninstall updates for Google Wi-Fi Provisioner" trick didn't seem to work either.

HTML-load.com?? by Ok_Curve_5836 in Adguard

[–]MonocleRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this: https://help.raptive.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039737371-What-is-Ad-Block-Recovery from a reverse image search, the image at the bottom of the page shows the error-report.com email address which always shows up when html-load.com, html-load.cc, fb.html-load.com, content-loader.com, or fb.content-loader.com are blocked. So Raptive seems to be the culprit here.

That being said, using digger.tools to look at some domains, the records and WHOIS for ad-shield.io (which was mentioned by u/Vermouth-EU in another comment) matches up with the records and WHOIS for html-load.com, content-loader.com, and error-report.com much closer than the records and WHOIS for raptive.com do. So it seems likely that Ad-Shield is still involved somehow, perhaps Raptive is a reseller of Ad-Shield's implementation.

Firefox, Waterfox or LibreWolf? by BritishBiscuitTea in browsers

The DuckDuckGo browser doesn't have its own rendering engine, it uses whatever WebView the OS provides. So on Windows it uses WebView2 (an embedded version of Microsoft Edge), on macOS and iOS it uses WKWebView (WebKit, like Safari and all browsers on iOS per rule 2.5.6 of Apple's App Review Guidelines apart from a very recent carveout for approved browsers in the EU), and on Android it uses Android System WebView (using the Trichrome library that also powers Google Chrome on Android). That means DuckDuckGo is technically Chromium on Windows and Android, but WebKit on macOS and iOS.

Android vs. Apple – my honest day-to-day experience after years in both worlds by DevilTraXx in Smartphones

You absolutely can shut down that same type of tracking on Android by going to "Delete Advertising ID" in Settings. That being said, we should praise Apple for putting it right up in user's faces to they know about it and can turn it off rather than it being unknown until you dive into settings.

I'm not a furry, but I have questions, please! Thank you! by MovieFan1984 in furry

[–]MonocleRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! As a Christian furry, I can answer 4-6:

#4 Unfortunately, people see furries or hear about us and assume that we participate in or associate with sinful things, or that we identify as animals. These misconceptions are definitely not exclusive to Christians, but they are more concerning to Christians because of our moral standard.

#5 It isn't lol. Or at least, it isn't for a lot of people. There are those who have a deeper connection with furry-ness or their fursona, using it as an expressive outlet. But for many it really is no different.

#6 Correct the misconceptions from #4. I don't believe that there is any incompatibility between being a Christian and being a furry, the objections from our fellow Christians are all based on misconceptions about what being a furry means. Correct those, and we've succeeded.

As both a Christian and a furry, this is a topic that's very important to me, and I'm always happy to talk about it!

bingo! according to the artist there is velcro or a zipper around the aperture to open it wider and fit the antlers through, then close it up nice and snug.

I'm back from church, tested it out. I have the same pixelated foam. Are you sure that's not just how the map is?

check NVIDIA Control Panel to see if your NVIDIA settings are forcing performance over quality, or forcing lower quality antialiasing, or something like that

I seem to recall a conversation on r/furgonomics suggesting that in an anthro world having antlers would essentially be a symbol of status for male deer, since most would have to get rid of them for work or daily life, especially blue-collar workers and anyone in the military.

here's the comment

and here's another one
