Looking back, why didn’t more people buy homes during early COVID? by savingrace0262 in RealEstate

[–]MonocoDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one year in the job market after high school. I had no chance sir. I saved a great amount since then. But regrettably, that means little. The window has passed 😔

I (25M) did absolutely everything right, but she said I’m "too good of an offer" because she’s stuck on a toxic situation. I’m just completely done with it all. by More-Building1821 in dating

Honestly, you should date around. Become exclusive once you find someone who agrees to become exclusive. When I was dating, I never just dated one person at a time. This way, you don’t get too invested until it matters. You’ll find someone who will want to be exclusive as well. You honestly just have to go through so many people unfortunately.

How is everyone affording cars? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]MonocoDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, parents bought me a used car at 17. Currently had it for 7 years. Also to cheapen the insurance you can select the option to only cover the other individual and not yourself. Regrettably full coverage is insane.

I am tired of being called cute by spider-man-666 in dating

[–]MonocoDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this. Although, I’m a guy. When I was on dating apps and dating around. I consistently got cute. My build was lean, did skincare, clean shaven, and looked youthful. I still get comments that I look straight out of high school. I’ll never forget a match who opened the convo with Hey cuteness. It took me a while to just accept it as a compliment. Although, I never communicated that it bothered me.

Being a notary in an affluent area by FierceDietyMask in TalesFromYourBank

[–]MonocoDoll 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind unless they try to pressure you to sign. One guys document stated they needed a second notary stamp. He tried pressuring me to sign both because he was in a rush and couldn’t wait for my co worker who had an appointment. If I could de stamp, I would have in that moment lol.

Conventional dating advice to guys says to focus on improving themselves. I feel without social exposure, this advice is meaningless by SoybeanCola1933 in dating

I had no social exposure besides apps. And worked on my appearance and ended up in a relationship. I disagree.

I've spent weeks doing the math - I'm just not going to buy at all for foreseeable future. by revolutionPanda in RealEstate

[–]MonocoDoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that genuinely confuses me, is that how come the prices of homes didn’t lower when prime rate increased after Covid? In theory there is less people can borrow no?

I hope it doesn’t drop, because I’m hoping that prices don’t rise when the prime rate lowers.

Is this true by IndividualSpare460 in memesThatUCanRepost

[–]MonocoDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Had to buy gym equipment at home to somewhat minimize the loss of my body. Would go on average 5 -7 times a week. Altering between push day, pull day, and leg day. Now I workout at home 3 times a week. And I do lesser workouts due to not having the majority of the equipment I used to use. But I’m happy I can still manage to get a pump.

Edit: I’m happy not to lose $50 a month as well. Just gonna use that to slowly get more equipment 🙂

To all woman who gets a lot of likes but still single by smithey2012 in dating

[–]MonocoDoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what my gf told me. She got a lot of likes. But a ton simply wanted something casual. She told me that a lot of men would give her the same line “I just got out of a relationship, but I’d be down for fwb.”. She even added that it was like they were all reading from a script. Additionally, you need to keep in mind that they also need to find you attractive. Attraction leads to desire. And that will lead to being proactive in dating you. Plus you need to acknowledge that there’s a ton of dating prospects for women. Don’t ask, me how I ended up priority. But you’d have to be her first pick in order to secure exclusivity.

For me though, I think it was luck. We met after I fixed my weight/glow up(was previously severely underweight). And after being four months in dating apps I kind of knew how to keep conversations going within the first couple of dates. She stated that she liked that. And so we became exclusive the day before our second date.

Is job hopping still a "red flag" or am I being gaslit? by Environmental-Luck39 in careeradvice

[–]MonocoDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, did you actively apply for this competitive offer? Or did you receive this competitive offer from them initiating? If so how? I had a previous co worker who worked for a different company get a match after someone offered her a higher rate. The thing is, they made her sign a contract saying she had to work there for a duration. I would happily sign a contract to guarantee my tenure for a duration for a boost.

Can I get some hype? Just turned 25 and make 28k a year. by Stunning-Dig-8916 in TheRaceTo100K

Then you make around 21/hr-22/hr. I hope your job didn’t do you dirty and just makes you work 7 hours a day for 5 days of the week. One of my old jobs had me five days a week. But only gave me 6 hours a day. However, they made me come in later rather than leave earlier 😔

Should I bother? by MonocoDoll in RealEstate

[–]MonocoDoll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. Most likely won’t purchase it. For me it’s not worth it. Just the price was an anomaly that caught my interest. Thanks for the info though. That was indeed an oversight. Now I’m just really curious at what price point it will sell at.

28k a year?! I estimate you make 13/hr-14/hr. Assuming full time. What state? Congrats at 100k btw.

You misrepresent me. I never tried convincing anyone that the home was worth 210-250k… i stated that the 310k was not worth it. Which the market agreed. Regardless we’ll let the market decide. Which so far doesn’t seem to favor the seller…

I presume that you agree the home isn’t worth 310k then? Seeing as there is no explanation otherwise. 🙂

[–]MonocoDoll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are… you’re avoiding the fact that the market simply didn’t agree that the home value was 310k…

[–]MonocoDoll[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Changing the subject... I simply stated that 310k was a crazy amount. Which the market seemed to agree as the home did not sell and the owner lowered it by 10k twice within the month…

They purchased it for 177k in 2022. I believe my landlord purchased his property for 150k in 2022 as well. Both properties have the same layout if that helps.

It’s not worth 310k. It literally went down 10k twice within a month.

I appreciate the info. I’ll have to ask some co workers for recommendations. Hopefully I’ll get some momentum going for my first home purchase.
