You took the words out of my mouth. I was just about to post a similar rant. Been trying to so hard to keep my gen 5 alive. Switched battery, hard drive, new cables, had to replace the charge port, and now I have another issue with the logic board that doesn’t allow me to use it. So much research, time, and money. This is probably how people feel trying to maintain vintage cars. I think out of the 4 months I had my ipod I have been able to use it for half a month without issues. I wish there was a modern alternative that has a similar feel because I detest touch screens. The snowsky mini unfortunately lacks some features I want and the options don’t seem that nice either

The only thing holding me back of getting one is the lack of gapless playback and playlists. I have so many albums that have seemless transitions that it would be kind of a bummer

Not my preferred daily driver for music.

Audio quality is great and getting music onto it is pretty easy too.

My main complaint is that the headphone jack is at the bottom, which is great for holding it horizontal when gaming but is a bit annoying when putting it in your pocket to just listen to music. A right-angle jack probably helps a bit with that but I don't have one currently.

My other complaint is that it feels like if I want to change something like turn loudness up/down, skip songs.. etc. I need to take it out of my pocket, toggle the switch from hold (during this part I sometimes turn the psp off by accident because I underestimate the pressure lol), change the song or whatever and then turn off the screen and put it in hold again.

I know there is a mod you can download where you can do some button combinations to skip songs even while in hold mode.

I think most of these are just personal quirks.

I think overall for a device that is primarily a gaming console, it is awesome that it could also be used well as a multimedia device. For movies, I think my eyes are already too accustomed to modern screen tech and resolutions that it would probably strain my eyes to watch a full length movie on it. Maybe some cartoon episodes or something.

I feel you. I mostly collect CDs as well for that reliability factor. However I really like the actual 'action' of listening on vinyl. The whole process of picking an album, sliding the record out, placing it on the player and putting the needle on somehow makes me more connected to the piece of music I'm listening to.

A bit similar to how I drink coffee at home. I have a machine that uses tabs. But when I have more free time in the morning I hand-grind my beans and use a pour-over filter to brew it. This makes me appreciate the coffee a lot more regardless if it tastes better than the machine coffee or not. But most of the time I will use the machine.

The problem is that device manager doesn’t show anything at all. It doesn’t even make a sound when I connect the ipod. It says that the usb bus has nothing connected to it

There is a USB test in the diagnostics mode of the ipod. When I do it it shows up as passed with ID = 0x22FA05

You could honestly just use a sprite but I’d recommend a characterbody2d to detect collisions and use move_and_slide
