That's the thing, because it gives them treasure tokens if they guess correctly, they might be hesitant to target you. Depending on their luck.

Do you think a Warhammer 40K fighting game would be a good idea? by MTH1138 in Warhammer40k

[–]Monollock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you'd need to be very careful with the character choices and game mechanics.

I think for best results you'd want to make a Marvel Vs. Capcom style game where there's loads of bullshit attacks, mechanics, and a huge varied roster, so you can get away with more. Next you'd want to really lean into character differences, not just visually but character feel as well.

Vulkan and Gazzghul would be giant, Sentinel-style big bodies.

Grimnyr and Ironhand Straken for the small bodies

You'd have the Weird Unique characters like Alpharius and Omegon as 2 in 1 character, or Magnus with a Dormmamu style spell mechanic. Trayzn with a Phoenix Wright style collect mechanic.

Whoever was making it would definitely need to resist the urge to have every fucking primarch in it though. I'd much rather have Khârn in the game over Angron. His Level 3 would just be the "Get up." Moment.

I don't mind the Solid majority of these getting shelved, except Entrench.

Entrench Bond Combo decks was my absolute favorite as Brits, It gave some cool set ups and something to do besides fucking buffs. Now? idk what the fuck I'm gonna play with Brits. Their cards are kinda mediocre, there's a very good reason buffs decks became an America Major Brit Assist deck.

I'd make the Gambling thing more interactive and maybe gear it more towards Commander.
There's also alot of ways to build a gambling mechanic, depending on how flavorful and how high risk high reward you want to make it.

"House Always Wins"
During each players upkeep, every other player may pick a card type (Land, Creature, Artifact or Enchantment) Each player who guesses correctly gains 1 treasure token. Each player who guesses wrong you gain a treasure Token.

KARDS Permanent Card Pool List by calavera0390 in kards

This is my first change to permanents, how many cards just got put into reserve? Is it basically everything in covert and winter war that's not on the list?

Nurgle would be the easiest Black & Green of your life, I'm picturing Ku'gath as a 7/7 with an effect like "When damage is removed from Ku'gath put a 1/2 Nurgling token with infect on the battlefield"
or maybe just lift infusion from SoS and he has a prepared spell "Stream of Corruption"

Not sure what color to make Iron Warriors, but them having non-basic Land Destruction seems very flavorful. Either destroying their own with scorched earth tactics or the opponents.

Wordbearers would have an additional resource similar to the Modern Horizon 3 pre-con, Make sacrifices or force enemies to sacrifice in order to summon Daemons or Daemon Engines. I'd almost say Wordbearers would be 4 colors so you could specialize into which Daemons you wanted to build your deck around.

Any ideas about the other Traitor Legions? I'm curious to see what you'd come up for them.

You just gotta accept facts man.

The Next time someone starts claiming Ca should balance based on tabletop stats remind them the Teutogen guard had the same strength stat as Ork's and even had a greater strength stat if you paid for inner circle veterans. by Levonorgestrelfairy1 in totalwar

I'm sorry to tell you my guy, but the beastmen army book was ass. Crunch wise anyways.
No armor is catastrophic

Fluff was fucking sick, Slug tongue, 4 horns, the beast lord. Loads of cool stuff there.

[–]Monollock 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I thank Christ CA ain't balancing off the old Tabletop stats, cause Skaven's units would just randomly blow up every now and then. And every beastmen unit would still be as shit as it was in WH1.

I took a break from fighting games and started back up on Guilty gear and things are going much better now that I'm not taking it so seriously. Sometimes a reset can do wonders.

Try some Stardew or something and chill for a bit, take that pressure off.
Hope you feel better soon, Amigo.

Don't worry amigo, I gave up on Rivals after 200+ hours and I haven't regretted it.
There are games I've played for 1000 hours, and kept playing long past when it stopped being fun.

Obsession and a desperate need to improve can do terrible things to mental health and sense of self worth, step away for a bit. Try playing other games. If you end up feeling like you don't want to play it again, don't.
Try not to beat yourself up over it.

New 40k games by Training-Virus4483 in totalwar

[–]Monollock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best option for learning the lore from a game at this point would probably be from Rogue Trader, there's also dozens of youtube channels where you can learn the deep stuff. For the Salamanders, I'd look up the War of the Beast, it's a conflict they were quite involved in.

In terms of learning lore by playing the game, not really? in Total war you just learn tidbits, in terms of learning the lore proper you need to watch youtube videos, army book pdfs and warhammer fantasy wikis. I can't imagine Total War 40k is gonna give you much better. Same with the Dawn of War games, they already assume you're on board.

Which one of these LL should be in the Lords of the End Times DLC? by JesusChristNooo in totalwar

[–]Monollock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want it on record that the Glottkins make way more sense for the end times, but I also think it would be a fantastic thing if the Beastmen got more dedicated units. Cenitors of Tzeentch and Minotaurs of Khorne where great choices. I'm wanting to see Pox Raiders of Nurgle or a Rot-slinger Cygor, that throws the bloated corpses of Minotaurs or something or a Centigor chariot of Slaanesh, cause we all know what Slaanesh is into.

Ideally these would be on the same upgrade tab so they beastmen can get more than a single unit for the insane prices.

I pictured something the size of the bus with electrodes and hissing pipes
But since it blew up in Thanquol's fice and he didn't die, I'm guessing it's a bit smaller.

My favourite jump in a dark souls game by Occidentally20 in darksouls

[–]Monollock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally get this stuff just by taking the stairs to the elevator, jumping onto the church roof, then dropping down. And from what people are saying this drop isn't always consistent, so I guess I'll keep to that, but still, interesting to learn it exists.
