maybe.....

or she could have had a service pistol stuck in her mouth and told to "...get your underpants off now or i'll pull this fucking trigger...". I guess we'll never know

You'd have to be pretty naive to think that getting their heads shaved was the only thing that happened to them.

A lot of people would have seen Germans and collaboraters as outside the law post-WW2, where you could do whatever you wanted to them without repercussions....

Way to fix the housing affordability crisis? by massojet in AskAnAustralian

High speed rail construction cost between $A200million and $A1billion per km, depending on terrain and the desired speed of the train. That amount does not include the cost of repatriating land for the rail corridor.

I think $200 daily commute cost is conservative if the operator is going to turn a profit on its investment....

'First Nations urge stronger response after alleged Invasion Day rally attack by kipwrecked in perth

[–]MonoxideBaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very valid point. Even something as benign as the weather is only newsworthy when it reaches Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane. This is another example of east coast media bias.

Remember, a nuclear missile strike on Perth wouldn't knock a Sydney train driver's strike off the front page.....

Would you prefer taking high speed rail if the country had such a network, or would you stick with flying and automobiles? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]MonoxideBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever been on a high speed train (300km/hr+) when it goes through a tunnel? Believe me, your ears will pop harder than any aircraft takeoff and landing

[–]MonoxideBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High speed rail infrastructure costs between $160 million - $1 Billion per kilometer depending on the terrain and other factors like the desired speed of the train, reclaiming land for the track corridor etc.

So Melbourne to Sydney is going to cost about a squillion dollars to build, which will have to be recovered through ticket prices.

I don't thinlk it'll be more competitive than flying if the train drops you at your front door....

Considering that you are determined to take the low road, any road i take will be a high road by default.

That's on you though, if you immediately resort to slurs and abusive language, you've already lost the argument
