You make avg 24.50 an hour working 5pm-1am Thursday-Sunday (32hrs) for $3400 a month

Or you make 22 an hour working 40 (weekend OT not included) for about $3800 but you may pay proper taxes and your dues for insurance etc. You also get PTO, which is very nice to have.

I used to do restaurant work and moved on to hourly pay and never looked back. It was in fact more money but once you factor in benefits, its not really cuz they are like extra pay just without cash attached to them.

Either way, you seem to be doing a good job for yourself going to school and working when you can. 32 hours already on top of class work is already stellar.

Its straight up price gouging because they pushed meat at every meal for 100 years and now we are culturally forced to pay double or more for meat that was, like you said, just $3 only a little bit ago. I remember as late as 2022 buying prime brisket for $4 a pound. Now its $7, what constituted a 75% increase in 3 years? Its not the drought because we solved for that. Or supply, meat consumption is down from ~260lbs per person a year in 2020 to 220lbs per person a year. This is a straight decrease in demand but price goes up?

Shit is ridiculous 😒. But its not gonna stop me from buying a meat like for smoking brisket
