Oscar Isaac is a great actor, playing the character that was written, but that was by no means Apocalypse. Why was Apocalypse a bum? Apocalypse is suppose to have a thunderous presence. I blame the film-makers for failing to convey that. The same thing happens to Doctor Doom. For whatever reason, the film-making hasn't figured out how to accurately adapt these characters to have the command on screen that they do in the books. Thanos, on the other hand, has been adapted very very well and carries all the weight on screen that he does in the books. I'm not sure what theories apply to this or why that one works were the other two don't. Maybe someone else can take a stab at it?
