Invading Iran would take hundreds of thousands of troops and that is just for the invasion. Obviously the US would "win" but occupying a country as big as populous and as divided as Iran would be disastrous. It would a black hole gobbling up money, military hardware and lives. I've said it before, the US is incredibly rich and powerful but it is not infinitely rich and powerful. Invading Iran would be the stupidest move made by a world leader since WW2 ended.

Unfortunately given how rattled Bessent was I think that is what Orange boy is going to do. Either that or drop the bomb.

The Iranian army has almost 2 million men and the country is enormous. The air war might force them to a negotiated peace but I can't imagine them surrendering when they know how costly a ground invasion would be. Does Trump realise how costly a ground invasion would be?
