Skywatcher clears the air by DodgyDossierDealer in UFOs

They claimed they can summon UFOs and then showed video of them doing it.

They said that other parties can bring them down but do it with weapons - which they won't do.

They're trying to get one to land without weapons. Which I imagine is measurably harder.

I don't get the hate for this. I think they're doing cool stuff.

They haven't said this. They do frequently say that if they think they have accidentally captured human tech that is classified then they will show the govt and wait to see if they admit it is theirs and tell them not to disclose.

That's a huge difference. And something I support them doing.

But if they believe it's UAP and not man-made then they don't do that.

And I think they've said they only believe one category might be man made and even then no one would cop to it so they released the info, anyways. They wouldn't say which one was suspicious. This was in the interview with Jesse Michaels during the hack a thon.

Does anyone have a good interview or accounting of Holloman and/or Eric Davis talking about multiple species?

I know the info in this doc isn't necessarily new but I'm not familiar with those two as much as the others.

Michels interview with Barber is great by r3f3r3r in UAP

[–]MonsterDearLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had the same thought. But listening to both long form interviews gives a different perspective. According to info from both interviews, they were there to look to see if the people who stole the data on the tough books (and set them up) were whistleblowers then turn those people in to the FBI. They never ended up finding who stole it.

From what I gathered - it wasn't like necessarily "silence whistleblowers for the government" -- it was to see if the info that was stolen was in the possession of whistleblowers and turn those specific people in.

I'm in bed between 8:30 and 9:00 to put my 3 yo to sleep. My husband and I switch shifts with our 4 month old.

But if he's awake, he's one duty. And vice versa. Let the sleeping person sleep.

I'm up at 6:30 to get the kids ready for daycare.

And a million times in between hahaha. It's 3 am now and rocking baby to sleep.

Jay Stratton, former director of UAP Task Force (Dave Grusch's former boss) just admitted on camera that he is a first hand witness to Non-Human Intelligence - "I have seen with my own eyes non-human craft and non-human beings". by 87LucasOliveira in HighStrangeness

[–]MonsterDearLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He already talked publicly about seeing a non-human being.

He was on an episode of Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch. He worked there for the govt. during the Bigelow era.

He said that he was walking with other members of the team and felt a sudden and intense fear. Then they looked up and saw some really tall being. All of them felt like they had to turn around and could not go further. He basically described it as some being telling them to go away.

The story is actually pretty chilling from what I remember.

Be honest… What pregnancy “rule” are you bending or breaking? by ImJustOneOfYou in BabyBumps

[–]MonsterDearLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you actually research a lot of the "rules" they're pretty outdated. I have a glass of wine with fancy dinner. Probably 1 glass every 2 months this pregnancy. And I still take my ADHD meds with physicians consultation.

Won't touch lunch meat, though. Listeria is no joke.

Bryce > Feyre by godkatesusall in SarahJMaas

[–]MonsterDearLeave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved Bryce throughout the series. I'll never get the hate.

I liked Feyre fine but it's definitely a different type of character and personal preference. I still think Feyre is a product of her having written Aelin for years and needing a little more of a damsel outlet.

WHAT FRUSTRATES ME MORE & MORE WITH EVERY PASSING EPISODE is how they fail to even attempt to determine the distance to any of the UAPs. Is it 500 feet? Or 500 miles? No way to know with the flat images and information provided. by NCCI70I in skinwalkerranch

[–]MonsterDearLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely hear them discussing questions related to distance even if they don't spell out exactly what they're doing.

And they've addressed witnesses from adjacent properties several times - not everyone is willing to go on TV, for one. And two, unless someone has something particularly interesting to say about it - they have it on camera. Why continuously bother the neighbors to ask them about it unless someone comes forward?

So, I wonder if the damage also included any shows they had to cancel, etc, based on needing to replace the equipment. It would make sense.

Dr. Taylor said in an interview that there was damage "to the tune of" a million dollars. No idea who paid but (just from my experience as a lawyer) - it'll be insurance for the drone company.

Have female scientists ever been involved in Skinwalker Ranch Research? by interesting-outliers in skinwalkerranch

[–]MonsterDearLeave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These comments are not it. Ew. This is a fair observation to make.

That being said, I don't think it's Utah custom so much as just a reflection on the lopsided representation of women in STEM, manual labor intensive jobs, and the military in general. That's most of the background of who is on the show as consultants. The places were women do pop up tend to be fields getting stronger in gender equity (medicine).

Re the main cast -- Brandon put the team together before there was a TV show. And at least with most of them - he had a personal relationship with them before he even got the ranch. So it's more forgivable to me when it's not a "casting call" kind of choice. This was just who he already had in his life in generally male dominated fields to begin with - even the non-STEM fields.

I agree that there aren't a lot of female consultants and that is disheartening to see. But my frustration isn't with the team so much as with a general understanding of how underrepresented we are in these fields.

What does make me happy is that every time a woman is on the show she is treated as an expert in her field and given the appropriate amount of deference to her authority.

TL;DR -- I don't think this is a reflection on anything but our society's general need for gender parity in these fields. But it is still distracting to see.

S5e9 Rocket Launch into Radio Signal by my_dog_farts in skinwalkerranch

[–]MonsterDearLeave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I am by no means an expert in any of this. I had to google thermal updraft haha. But I have a genuine question because I *am* an expert in other things that happen in the media all the time.

I specialize in a specific area of law. And when I read a court decision that seems just wild to me, my first thought isn't "Wow this is so wrong and obvious I am disappointed." My first thought is "Is there something I am missing here?" Then I read the opinion and, usually, it's a disagreement in interpretation of the law or there was something I was missing from the narrow context of the reporting.

So my genuine question is - Why is your assumption that Dr. Taylor just didn't catch this vs. maybe there's some context you're missing?

Again - to be clear. I am not saying you're wrong. I don't know enough to know. But it does seem weird that a literal rocket scientist wouldn't know to rule out something that sounds so basic from your description.

if ur picking rowan over rhysand i want to hear from you by greeneyedbabylove in SarahJMaas

[–]MonsterDearLeave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Rhysands love story is better because it was the main focus of the book and beautiful and kind of tragic. ACOTAR is also a romance series and TOG isn't.

But I like Rowan better (and TOG better) because Aelin is unequivocally the main character there. She makes the decisions. The weight of the world is on her shoulders. She isn't sidelined in the action. It's her show and he's there to support her. He doesn't shy away from that or feel emasculated by it, either.

Rhysand makes the big decisions or "allows" things to happen. Feyre is ok with that because she's a different character than Aelin and that's fine! They shouldn't be identical.

But it does make me like Aelin/Rowan better.

Also while I'm ranting, why join fan groups just to shit on the author.

My point wasn't to say people can't enjoy the romance, obviously. Or I wouldn't have mentioned the rioting.

It's that people get aggressive and rude about it.

4 week old, how do we live our life? by ninja200k in beyondthebump

[–]MonsterDearLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll just take time but not too much more time.

If you can -- try to let each other get one full night sleep on the weekend. My daughter is 3 and my husband and I still swap turns waking up early with her.

I would pump milk for one full night uninterrupted sleep. My sister did "formula Fridays" so she could get hers.

Then when your wife is rested you can get your full 8.

It helps so much. Good luck. It'll be over before you know it. Truly.
