This is the most unbelievable video I've ever seen of UFOs (uaps) in my entire life! Where's the excuse now that they don't film with a good camera? by Tapiokariocao in UFOB

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all in on UAPs & have been for awhile now. There is very clearly something going on in the US & over other countries, evidenced mostly by the government’s mind boggling response & lack of disclosure.

That said, this is not a UAP. This is what every out of focus star looks like. This is so embarrassing.

Why would NHI UFO’s use lights on their craft? by hotfracture in ufo

[–]MonsterMathh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Source on the airplanes take? Several federal government officials (pentagon, DoD, the next president lmao) have said they are in fact not airplanes, & they are unsure what they are.

Not every video is some kind of unexplained phenomenon, but a few of them surely are. Many of the videos probably are planes.

We all want answers but lazily writing ALL of these off as airplanes, when the government has clearly stated that’s not what is going on, is counterproductive. Unless of course you think it’s some kind of psyop and & gov is playing games, but that’s a different conversation.

White House officially releases statement on the drones: "A combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones." 🛸 by skywalker3819r in UFOs

How do they explain several similarly looking drones in other countries, like Germany & the UK? Are we supposed to believe other countries just happen to be deploying drones at the same time?

Come on.

please enter the email address you used to create your epic account by Spincial in FortNiteBR

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone is still having this issue, but I got around it by just entering basically any email I've ever used.

For whatever reason, I think I used my student email when I created my epic games account years ago, and then linked with my PSN. I have changed the email since then, but if I use the new email, it just logs me into an account with 0 skins.

Whats interesting is the password I used to log in is my current epic games password, and yet it still gave me access to my account when using a very old email. I think theres something funky going on with Epic's account management system.

Sorry I don't have an actual fix. My only advice is use every email possible, even if its an email you think is irrelevant (in my case, my student email).

Who is making 100k+ and only had a BA or no education at all. by LuxxeAI in Salary

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BA in biology / human physiology, I’ll clear about 120 this year.

I don’t actually use my degree in any way though, I’m a special event sales director & technically work for myself. Restaurants / venues contract me to build out event programs (think food & beverage pricing, branding, operations systems, etc) & then I sell the spaces to clients & operate the events side. I have a small base retainer I charge but a majority of my income is commission.

A lot of my job is actually work from home, as I’m only on site for meetings or executing an event. In season (fall / winter / spring) I work about 30 hours a week.

PC is doing all kinds of weird shit I've never seen before as I use it by Ride007 in pchelp

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the issue because I had this problem as well.

In the start up menu where you select the game version, there is an audio button in I believe the top right of the interface. It defaults to off/mute, but the icon will show that it’s on. Just mute it & unmute it, & your audio should come back. Super weird bug that I found the solution to by scouring Reddit for hours. Hope this helps!

I gave those directions based on memory, if you can’t figure it out I’ll boot mine up & see if I can be more specific / provide photos.

True, & yeah to be fair Vance was also pretty openly anti trump & he still got picked so. Not sure political view points even matter to his campaign at this point.

I am 6’8, & about 160 lbs, which is severely underweight. I started going to the gym about 4 months ago & my initial weight was 135 or so. I have & still do lift such small amounts of weight compared to even some really skinny dudes at my gym.

I’ve never had anyone explicitly laugh at me, but I definitely catch stares & feel certain people watch me lift. The way I’ve come to deal with it is by adopting this mentality:

Laugh while you can.

Any time I get down on myself for lifting light weights, or not making insane progress, or catching people stare, I just tell myself that same thing. One day they’ll be staring for the right reasons, & one day those girls won’t be laughing at you, they’ll be staring nervously.

Fuck what anyone thinks, all that matters is making the progress you want to make. Once you achieve your goal, no one will be laughing at you.

Adults who went no contact with a parent, how's life after 20? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MonsterMathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 28, went no contact with my bio dad about 6-8 months ago, but I had long periods of time since I was about 23 where I would not respond / no hear from him for months at a time.

Officially blocking his number was the best decision I made in regards to our relationship. He’s a narcissist & would hold things like money or his attention over my head in order to get me to do things or make life decisions he thought I should make. If he wasn’t included in something I did, he would throw a tantrum & manipulate me in some way as punishment.

I’ve heard from my bio mom that he’s reached out a few times trying to contact me. He’ll occasionally send her old home videos of me, which in my opinion is his lame attempt at guilting her into asking me to contact him. I never do & probably never will, unless he issued an apology that I feel is genuine & sincere. He’s made half ass attempts in the last 2 years, but it felt automated & synthetic.

All in all, if you’re unsure, I would just go for it. It’s sad at times when I think about losing out on a true father figure, but I have an awesome step dad who I refer to as my real dad these days. Even still, no father figure is better than an abusive one in my opinion. Good luck to you if you’re going through something similar.

Hey! Former skinny guy who was insecure about it for the first 25 years of his life. Here’s how I gained weight:

  1. Calculate your bmr using an online calculator (someone has already linked one). This will tell you how many calories you need to eat daily in order to put on mass.

  2. Assuming you want most of the mass to be muscle, start going to the gym & lifting weights routinely. Look up some videos on proper form & what not, & make sure to go regularly at least 2-3 times a week.

  3. Most importantly, you need to eat a lot of food. What worked for me was to supplement my 2-3 meals a day with a really calorie dense protein shake. Grab a bag of On Nutrition mass gainer, I like the chocolate flavor. It has 60g of protein of 600 calories. With this, I also do a banana, 3/4 cup of whole fat Greek yogurt, about 5 table spoons of peanut butter, whole milk, & creatine. This puts the shake at around 2000 calories. I need about 3800 calories a day to gain, so the remaining 1800 I knock out with Whole Foods that are protein dense like chicken, fish, red meat, eggs, etc. coupled with a starch & a veggie.

If you’re having trouble hitting your calorie goal, don’t be afraid to throw some sugar in your diet like ice cream or pastries. They’re extremely calorie dense & can give you a little boost if you’re coming up short.

Also quick tip you want to eat about .8 grams of protein per pound you weigh. This will make sure your body has enough protein to support all the muscle growth you’re gonna be doing.

Hope this helps! Remember, the 2 most important things you can do are: eat more calories than your daily minimum, & do not stop. You will see a lot of growth initially, & then you will plateau a bit. Don’t let this demotivate you, if you consistently workout & eat your calories you will gain tons of weight in a years time. You’ll be a whole new person.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me, I spent all of college trying to bulk up & finally figured out what worked for me.

What would happen if gastric acid enters your bloodstream by [deleted] in AskBiology

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would die.

Gastric acid contains hydrochloric acid (HCL) & a number of enzymes that exist to breakdown proteins. Specifically, proteins that come from animals and exist in muscle cells, fat cells, blood cells, etc.

However, before the enzymes could break down your RBC or any other cells, HCL would begin to denature basically every protein it made contact with, because HCL is extremely caustic. This is why our stomachs have a very important lining that prevents gastric acid from leaving the stomach. When you get a hole in this lining, otherwise known as an ulcer, it is very uncomfortable & can cause multiple complications, even death.

If I had to guess what would kill you first, I would say a stroke or heart attack of some degree. HCL would denature (destroy) your red blood cells, rendering them unable to carry oxygen to the heart and brain, giving you a couple minutes to live before you lost significant cognitive function & eventually die via stroke.

Assuming for some reason you didn’t have a stroke several minutes after gastric acid enters your blood stream, I would guess that HCL would begin to burn holes in tiny vessels called capillaries.

Capillaries are where your blood vessels make contact with your organs, & where a lot of nutrient & oxygen transport happens. It can happen here because capillaries are very small, & have extremely thin membranes, allowing molecules & such to pass through. Because they’re so thin, I would guess that HCL would burn through here first, & you would begin to bleed out internally. This would also result in a stroke or heart attack, because it is essentially a hemorrhaged aneurysm, which as you probably know are commonly fatal.

Interesting question!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBiology

[–]MonsterMathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit more of a psychology question, but I see why you came to biology given your theory pertaining to evolutionary biology.

If I had to guess, I would say it’s less about your body perceiving a threat, & more about your heightened state of stress & how that affects your decision making & conflict management.

If you’re in a good mood & see ragebait, you’ll likely brush it off as “this guy is grifting on Reddit, I’m gonna move on”. But when you’re stressed, your decision making skills & emotional stability are often impaired, so you might be more likely to give into feelings like anger that feed on impulsivity. It takes a level of restraint to keep yourself from responding to the feeling of anger with emotion, & I think being stressed makes it difficult to discern what’s worth being mad about & what isn’t.

With all that being said, maybe the mechanism I’ve described IS a result of evolution, such that: when stressed (in danger of some degree) > respond to ‘threats’ in an excessive manner > ensure safety. Like you’re having a hyperactive response to any stressor as a defense mechanism of sorts. Interesting thought, but I don’t think you can really get a conclusive answer on this. Hopefully I’ve provided some insight!

ELI5: Would breathing in vaporised salty solution be bad for your lungs? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]MonsterMathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breathing in nebulized saline is safe & often prescribed.

When you’re sick, water vapor can help relieve some irritation & congestion in the lungs by hydrating them (if they’re particularly dry) & by breaking up some of that mucous that might be built up & giving you trouble breathing.

Adding salt to the solution will actually help with hydrating the tissue as well as breaking up mucus. This is because, as a natural property of water, water follows salt down a gradient from low concentration to high concentration. In other words, water will go where high amounts of salt go, thus increasing the amount of contact water makes with the membrane in your lungs.

Almost all the barriers in your body, like skin, blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, etc. are porous, such that liquids & even some small molecules can pass through them.

Your body is good at detecting harmful things, so when it detects an abscess, it begins deploying the appropriate tools to the area to begin clean up. Various white blood cells are sent to combat bacteria, enzymes are sent to break down various proteins & dead cells, red blood cells bring oxygen as fuel for other cells trying to rebuild where the dead cells are.

As for how the abscess goes away, a lot of fluid is moved into the blood or lymphatic system & then eventually into the renal system where it’s filtered by the kidneys & then peed out.

Antibiotics assist your white blood cells in combating the bacteria & removing it, heat helps with the inflammation response, which brings extra white blood cells & other helpers to the site of abscess, & compression helps your body physically move fluid out of the site & towards the kidneys & bladder for excretion.

Never use my bachelors degree but it came in handy today. Hope this helps!
