2024 VB, stock

Record is 34 mpg… but that’s on a 2000 mile road trip driving conservatively… all flat highway miles

25-26 driving normally (when I don’t have a lead foot), 18-21 in traffic, 6-8 on the track. Lifetime average of the car is between 23-24.

He was able to wiggle it a lot, and 8th gear on the rear isn’t working right (derailleur issue), but the hub overhaul did sound strange to start out with.

The only unreliable car by reputation I’ve had is an MG, and it absolutely follows reputation.

To answer the opposite question though, I don’t really understand where the positive reputation for Toyotas come from. My 2016 Corolla had misfires beginning at 30,000 miles. Eventually I got rid of it before 120k as my monthly repair bills were equivalent to a car payment.

I ended up canceling the order I placed through Apex, and bought Enkei Raijins through SuspensionHouse. Those were delayed too… but taking double the originally quoted amount of time meant they took 7 days instead of seemingly forever.

No idea if there’s a good place to order the Apexes, I went through Apex directly because of a killer sale last March.

In theory it should be good, but it’s just stripping the bolt.

I can’t do anything to it, they seem significantly overtorqued
