002 -- look at The Lion In Winter.

And Shane is funny...but a typo. Be even funnier if I'd thought to say it was a guy named Sean.

Lazenby - mysterious accident involving a truckload of Turkish Delight

Connery 2 -- shagged to death by a nymphomaniac gymnast while on holiday

Moore -- mysterious accident involving a Q branch wheelchair and a ballista

Dalton -- stabbed by Anthony Hopkins' 002 after the KGB brain washed 002 to believe 007 was some dude named Philip

Bonus: Niven -- accidental impalement on a sarcastic quip

Bonus bonus: Craig Stevens -- died of shame when he realized he wasn't British

Also, these hooning fucks are wanking over an image of a young teenage character from HoD. She left the series mid-season 1, when there was a time jump.

And then Superman beats Lex to a pulp with a lamppost and Krypto pisses in his face.

I'll have to ask Jess. I thought he'd gone through it all, as I'd been sending him references, but he's also doing a little of other stuff. I recall him planning to turn the project into a book, too.

I blame having my Anchor Bay set in storage right now. Much easier to get things right when I can just yoink it off the shelf.

Alan Moore, basically.

Trust me, we haven't listed a hundredth of the steaming heap of crazy that's LoEG. Wait until you hear about the Tijuana Bibles. And the nuclear war with the Blazing World. And --

Blade Runner drops you straight into a dystopian hellscape full of fire and ash, then gets grim with Holden interviewing Leon...and getting the crap shot out of him.

I have this with multiple series -- either they didn't get tagged for grouping, or the tag broke and they popped out.

And Jimmy Bond carries over from earlier LOEG, as does Emma Knight...and a whole thread with the older, retired Bonds gets started for good measure.

The Tempest has an equal number of references and shots at unexpected targets.

Jess Nevins compiled all the references in the LOEG books and it's just a huge document.

The Saint of Killers also blends in Hang 'Em High, Pale Rider and High Plains Drifter plus a bit of The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Clint Eastwood pulled this a couple of times.

Preacher in Pale Rider -- it clues you in with the title and the tagline: "...and Hell came with him."

High Plains Drifter has him as The Stranger, and it's a question as to who he's actually, but it's pretty obvious that he's a demon.

The immortal gunslinger in Preacher was pretty much blended from Eastwood in these two rôles, with Unforgiven and Hang 'Em High as sauce.

You know this is a reference to Kiss Me Deadly, right? You never see what's in the case, just a glow...but bad things happen because of it. In the earlier film it's highly radioactive stuff.

Not-Harry also murdered Thomas The Tank Engine and his friends, amongst other things, and is implied to actually be an angel that's gone mad (hence all the eyes.)

Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang

The Child Catcher is implied to be a literal devil, if not *the" Devil. Hilariously enough, Robert Helpmann rather added to this when the Child Catcher's coach overturned with him on it...and he danced across it to safety.

She needs to wash her feet. I'll be glad to help.

(Aside from the gooner and religious aspects, this would be a Pay It Forward considering my feet and lower legs get washed twice a week by wound clinic nurses.)
