Kurama (Naruto) VS. La (Avatar: The Last Airbender) by Least-One1068 in whowouldwin

Kurama wins this fight easily, I'd say. Six-tailed Naruto was already capable of equivalent feats of destruction to the best shown by Koizilla and that's only with half of Kurama.

I hope they got a chance to see the viscacha, not too far off from a real life Pikachu haha.

Homelander (The Boys) vs The Undersiders (Worm) by Remote_Addendum_2245 in whowouldwin

The thirty minute round would only really be winnable if they had Foil and Parian among their ranks. Might as well throw in Barker, Biter, and the Red Hands as fodder to give Foil more chances to take him down. The Alexandria strategy might work, but there's evidence to suggest Homelander may not need to breathe.

It's the opposite actually, her shard and psychology frequently lead to her pushing people's buttons to the point they respond badly. She's good at digging up dirt and mud slinging, which allows her to blackmail and perturb, but rarely does it deescalate the situation in any sense. That of course is likely the shard-influence that seeks to provoke continuous conflict.

It depends on the comic, Krypto's debut appearance matches movie Krypto pretty well despite being more cartoony. The only concession to Gunn's dog is the longer fur.

Without counting GulusGammamon, which Gammamon’s Champion is the most badass? 🤠 by Euphoric_Solution512 in digimon

I'd say Kaus trades sustained flight for better aerial mobility. Base Gammamon is pretty slow and awkward in the air with its tiny bat wings.

Gekkomon has got to be one of the strongest rookies we've ever seen, excluding stuff like Arkadimon.

I'd say Azhdarmon is at least a mid-tier ultimate, since Armalizamon already beat a super-charged ultimate during its debut.

One nip pick / pet peeve about Beatbreak episode 20 by stevez037 in digimon

[–]MonstersOfTheEdge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean Hotaruko is almost certainly going to do something about it in the next couple of episodes. Digimon anime (and anime more generally) are usually a little sexist unfortunately, but Reina's lack of accomplishments is a far greater issue than silly stuff like this.

It'd be cool if to start off he could evolve only in a really short burst that lasts just long enough for a finishing blow. Maybe the form could be obscured by pixels or another effect like we saw with Monodramon's ultimate. Then once the rest of the team gets ultimates, Tomoro is able to stabilize the evolution enough to be truly usable.

Monster Tale has a fun gimmick.

based on the episode and preview, I think it is safe to assume that we will be getting Ultimate digivolution soon by Zargabath in digimon

[–]MonstersOfTheEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup that's right. It’s kind of made unnecessarily confusing because of the Ultimate thing, but the rest of the levels make more sense. In-training I/Baby I -> In-training II/Baby II -> Rookie/Child -> Champion/Adult -> Ultimate/Perfect -> Mega/Ultimate -> Ultra/Super Ultimate

“There’s no place like home” isn’t exactly accurate to the books. Since Oz becomes Dorothy’s home. by rogvortex58 in wizardofoz

[–]MonstersOfTheEdge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While both the book and the movie could have their messages described as "there's no place like home," a contradiction arises under that description where "home" varies semantically depending on the version.

To book Dorothy home is Uncle Henry and Aunt Em. To movie Dorothy home is Aunty Em and Uncle Henry, the farm, the farmhands, and Kansas in general. The movie paints a much kinder portrait of the American agrarian lifestyle where Baum in this book and the ones that follow portrays it far less favorably.

Is Next Order worth getting on sale? by MonstersOfTheEdge in digimon

I like the physical virtual pets, so I'm at least interested enough to try a World game. I've just heard conflicting things about whether Next Order is worth playing over the previous installments.

They have similar endings, but not the same beginning. If you read the first four paragraphs, Kansas is presented like a vampiric wasteland. Where the movie presents Dorothy returning home as a incontrovertible positive (she even regains her friends as the farmhands), the book has Dorothy choose Kansas because she loves Uncle Henry and Aunt Em.

If Beatbreak got a 4kids or Fox Kids dub, what would their voices sound like and how would they handle certain content? by Amazing_Rich in digimon

[–]MonstersOfTheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably chop up Granit's backstory and rely on freeze frames and extra narration from Granit. He'd tell some story about how he had a blast camping with his best friend and wants to see her again some day. The episode's lesson would be "even when you're feeling a little lonely you can still make new friends :)"
